I know many people feel trucks are meant to get used and dirty, which I totally get. However I've always been fanatical about keeping my vehicles clean and I thoroughly enjoy it too. For me I just love getting up early on Saturday morning and washing the car by hand and adding some polish/wax to it. Is anyone else here that weird? 😂

I used to do that but my priorities are different now. The truck is here to serve me.

Going to pick up a load of manure later. My latest modification is an aluminum filler to keep crap from getting packed between the tailgate/ bed gap.

I'm addicted to keeping my vehicles clean and have many many products for the deed.

I'm really into the $20/month unlimited car wash. I wash the truck almost every time I drive by.

I don’t think it’s weird, I love to feel beautiful supple paint, even if it’s a truck and it’s gets used. I love clay and for the last few years, ceramic/graphene waxing.

Here is a pic after washing and waxing.

I did spend a lot of elbow grease and sweat to strip and then re-coat all my glass with a really high quality ceramic coating. Because I live where it rains a lot and the coating helps shed rain really well. Beyond that I take it to a touch free wash every month or so. In the summer I try to foam cannon at home, but that involves getting out the pressure washer, which I am often too lazy to do.

I like rain x and how it beads off the window. My wife said, that stuff never works. So I did half the windshield on the car and we were driving in the rain. I said see how great this stuff works?

She says, “why didn’t you do my side”?😑

Mine stays pretty dirty but if you are ever vacationing on Maui feel free to stop by Twin Falls and my wife will bring the truck up for a polish. I will even chop you a coconut for the effort.

Hi DC1990 - did you caulk the seams where the bed meets the wheel wells? Or do you just live with whatever lodges in the crevice?

I wash my truck once a year, whether it needs it or not. Sometimes this inspires me to take the next step. So far, I kinda like the simplicity and performance of Turtle Wax 53409 Ceramic Spray Coating.

I used to be that way, but I'm older now. I still hand wash it only, but not as often. Stuff hurts when you get older.

A complete detail job on my vehicle is relaxing therapy for me. That said I only do it once a year, every spring. And yes I use dishsoap and paste wax lol. My 15 year old ram,a Michigan truck since it was bought new, still looks great!
