so i was driving down the highway and ran over a piece of scrap metal (looked like part of an old exhaust manifold) it popped my tire and cracked my evap canister. took it to the dealer and it it turns out it put 2 holes in my floor pan. ive had the truck a month. waiting on insurance/bodyshop estimate for the replacement.

I was wondering if anyone here has had to have the floor pan replaced and how much it was?

How large and where is the location of the holes? I would not want my (entire) floor pan replaced as it's key to the structural integrity and panel alignment of the (unibody) vehicle.....

good luck....

I would think if the floor pan needs to be replaced the truck is a right off . I would not have an issue with a good body shop repairing the holes . The problem for us in Canada is this vehicle would then be branded . When you go to sell or trade you get half of what it is worth . That's if anyone even wants it .

one hole looks like a slot for a phone, the other looks like someone punched it and the metal started to rip. i can get about 4 fingers in it. so just waiting for insurance adjuster to come look at it on wed. they are in line with the evap canister and its hoses.

So there are 2 small breaches perhaps 4” by 1-2”?

Why would that be a complete vehicle write-off?

It sounds easily, correctly repairable.

at this point its up to the insurance company. i don't know what they're going to say about the floor pan being damaged. they could claim its structural or to just patch it. i really have no clue.

It sounds repairable to me and there is no way a whole floor pan would be warranted. The removal and replacement of said panel would do more damage to the unibody's integrity than simply patching the holes. It should only affect the value if it is "totaled" and the title is marked, that does not occur when the damage is repairable. You would have to disclose to the next buyer that it had some damage. That's only an issue if you sell it in the near future, as time goes by, not so much.

Forget a floor pan replacement - I don't see it happening. Weld in some patches and call it a day. Good enough for airplanes and good enough for your floor pan.

Sorry for the late update but they replaced the floor pan and it was about 9k. Didn't total it but still expensive. I got her back today

The holes on some of them coming back to the carrier you could crawl through and they were still flying and repairable. Amazing.
