When I open the driver door I have no interior lights come on. I have a lariat and no ambient lights either. I have tried the settings etc. Am I missing a switch? Battery seems fine. No other issues I know about. What am I missing? Thanks.

There is a 3-position switch on the overhead centre console that controls how the interior lights work. It should be in the centre position.

If it's not the switch above the rear view mirror, your battery probably is in battery saver/sleep mode. In this mode your hybrid should still start, as the 12 volt battery only operates relays to make the high voltage battery put the truck in ready to drive mode or start the gasoline motor if needed.

If it happens again after your next drive, get a battery maintainer and put it on the jump points under the hood. The user manual tells you where those are. They are on the driver's side. Keeping the 12 volt battery from getting too low will also prolong its lifetime. NOCO is a good brand and available at Walmart or Amazon.

It's a known issue of deep sleep but if you are doing okay above deep sleep voltage they should come on when you open the doors as long as the switch is in the correct position.

I think ambient light only comes on once the vehicle has been started? I can't remember. But if it's not on while you are driving, then the only other spot is the setting within SYNC's options.

Yes. The switch is in the center position.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's in deep sleep. The lights work when I turn them on at the switch.
Hmm.

Does your instrument cluster start booting up displaying the truck animation and radio the Ford logo when you open the door or only when you push to start? Both will stay blank if it's in deep sleep. Also the passenger side intelligent access disables.

Also the ambient lighting has a tendency to just randomly shut itself off and needs to be turned back up in the settings. Maybe the radio update CSP addresses this.

I am not familiar enough with Lariats to know what all will trigger the lighting, but I'd also be curious if any other doors will activate the lighting. Maybe the position sensor for that one driver's door is broken?

That stuff all works. I don't think it's a deep sleep issue

Ya, thanks. I tried that no luck.

It's sleep mode. Happens to me everyday. If you have the ford app, it should alert about going into sleep mode. When it's in that mode, the interior lights won't come on. It annoying for sure.

Thanks I was hoping that wasn't the case. I'll hook up the ford app and see what it says. I shut down the app the day I got my truck thinking that might discharge the battery.

Sorry brother, I have a Lariat too. Other than that issue, the truck has been great for me.

I don't have a hybrid and I have the same lighting issue. Do non-hybrids go into sleep mode?
