Have been on a honeymoon with my Mav since February. Love it. It's done everything asked/expected of it. But alas, now have my first problems.

First, the interior overhead lights (front and back) stopped going on when a door is opened. It's not a setting or bulb issue; the front and rear overhead lights go on when manually pressed. It's a small thing, but bothersome after the sun goes down. No lighting to see your way (or to see something that might be on the car seat) when getting into the car at night. And nothing is offered in the owners manual to help troubleshoot the problem.

The other issue is that the handtouch-activated unlocking of the car doors on the shotgun side stopped functioning. Not a problem on the drivers door side. Again, it's not a major matter, just really bothersome.

Anyone experiencing similar issues??

I will get it into the dealer soon.

Your battery is getting discharged so it's going into its low power state. The dome lights don't come on, the IC doesn't show its splash screen, and the passenger side intelligent access stops working.

Thx. So, you think I'm having the dreaded battery discharge issue? If so, are there any DIY fixes, or should it be dealer-bound?

Hi there, Mike! I can look into your Maverick's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?

Tried everything, short of the Ford Pass message (I want auto-stop to function). I've now found that taking longer rides, especially if I drive them in NORMAL mode and not ECO mode, overcomes the issue. Have always been an ECO mode driver with the Mav, but am now going to use NORMAL on shorter trips (saving ECO mode for longer ones) to see if that keeps my interior dome lights coming on properly.

So, based on comments posted here, I decided to charge the 12v battery (that's under the rear seat) in an effort to fix the problem of no ceiling lighting and no intelligent door access on the passenger side.
So far, so good!
After 2 days/nights, ceiling lights come on when doors are opened and intelligent access is back to normal, all around.
Also, am driving in NORMAL (and not ECO) mode. As I've said earlier, am going to leave ECO mode driving for when my trips are longer.

Yep low battery. Put on a charger and do the reset and 8 hour rest
"Reset"??

If you meant "deactivate"/"activate" of the LOCKS via the steering wheel MENU, then, yeah.

Regarding the handtouch lock/unlock: What worked for me was disabling then re-enabling the intelligent key system. 'Another example of the off/on fix!

Resetting the Battery Management System. Leaving it sit charged for 8 hours should learn it on its own, but you can do it manually by turning the vehicle on (don't start/press brake), flashing the high beams five times, and then pressing the brake pedal three times. The battery light should flash three times to indicate it was successful.

How do you disable/enable the intelligent key system?
