Interior light going off

Has anyone had the issue I am having? The interior light will not come on when you open the door, but sometimes it does. Also after you shut the truck off and open the door the interior light stays on for a few seconds then goes off like it thinks you shut the truck door. I did go to the dealership and they did all the logical things like make sure the dome light switch is in the proper position and if any setting have to deal with it. So now I have an appointment to have it really looked at. Its weird because sometimes it works fine and other times it doesn't

I'm experiencing this same issue. Did the dealership ever find the issue?

They said the truck needed to be driven for a decent amount of mile to refresh the battery . I did that it worked then happened again, found out that my dash cam was causing the issue because i have it always on and when you don't drive a lot like myself it drains the battery enough to make the truck shut down modules. When the trucks battery starts to drain it will shut modules down in order to be able to start and to unlock the drivers door with the handle. Ever since I took the dashcam off i have had no issues, I will install the cam again but only to acivate when the truck is running I havent done that yet

My hybrid lariat lux is doing the same thing now. Dome light switch is 100% in the correct position, and works as expected when the ignition is on or in accessory mode. I have nothing wired into power aside from an empty usb cable I would use for AA.

It hasn't been sitting, did over an hour of driving yesterday.

It starts and runs normally, and the touch handle works at least on the driver side.

Passenger side is usually the first door handle to stop responding, not the driver door. Lights turning off/not turning on when the vehicle is off, and the passenger side handle not unlocking on Lariat are often signs of a low 12V battery (not hybrid battery) SoC, a common issue on these hybrids. Might want to get your battery tested.

Yep, it's at 11.9v.

I'll manually charge it now, then try to get the dealer to actual address it when it goes in for the battery cable TSB.

Yup. Deep Sleep mode. When I can be without the truck for a while (TBD on how long) I’ll let my local dealer deal with it. In the meantime, I’m helping Ford by keeping my 12v battery maintaining a full charge, which is BS for a vehicle under full warranty.

Come on Ford, fix this issue. WTF?

My 2023 Lariat Hybrid did the deep sleep/no lights behavior when I first got the truck and didn't drive it much (late snow here, and the Jeep was a better choice). Now that stopped and the truck has had no deep sleep or no light issues for a couple of months. There have been threads about it...along with a recommendation that it is less of a battery draw if you lock the truck when you leave it. I did start doing that, even though the truck is in my locked garage when not in use. I don't know if that helps or not.

I'd sure like to see a document from Ford regarding Deep Sleep, no lights, 12V battery voltages, etc. Maybe someday.

2024 Maverick Lariat. So, driving regularly and often then the passenger door doesn't respond to unlocking nor locking - intermittently. One day working, next fine, next day zero. Weather not hot nor cold. Still under warranty I tell the dealer who checks it and don't you know this day the door is operating properly. A month goes by all good - then not operational - lock nor unlock. also the interior lights stops operating automatically, when the door opens. Odd. I fumble with the switch and still not working upon entry
Back to the dealer. Two days to diagnosed " it needs a new passenger door handle". Order, paint and install 7-10 days.
Back to the dealer. installed - 2 hours. I check the door handle and nothing, zero operation.
Back inside to the service desk. The repair/tech man comes out. "No low voltage" "No Codes" indicating a problem. Another two hours later - "all done" says the service/tech.
Success !
Oh, by the way, I say, what about the interior light - tech man moves the toggle switch back and forth (just as I had done) - and now it works ! Great.
THEN, the driver side rear door handle stops automatically opening when you open the door on either the front driver side or front passenger side ( now working properly).
Back to the dealer- next week.
Anybody else have this issue ? Gremlins.....?

Means your battery is low. Charge your battery and everything will be fixed

So, update - the Ford dealer, after changing the front passenger door handle, and many shop hours changed the year and a half old battery. Voila - all the door operate properly and the overhead light too…
I did mention this forum and other accounts of system shutdowns and suggested the battery might be the issue….

Bummer - that means they are going to tag another warranty work order as bad battery.

Instead of bad charging system killing a battery.

Glad it worked before they tore more stuff apart.

“In the old days” with a newish battery not holding a charge I’d clean the terminals, tighten the clamps, test the liquid inside the battery, look at a stretched belt, tension pulley, etc…
Now, maybe a - “bad charging system” - ?
