Instrument Panel recall coming soon?

My digital information goes black from time to time upon starting the truck. Any word of a recall to fix that?

This sounds like it would be a standard warranty claim that you would make an appointment for. I don't recall seeing too many reports of others with this same issue so I doubt there would be a recall related to it. Unless you are talking about the backup camera freezing, which there is a recall for.

Thanks, but they won't look at it unless the screen is dark, and that is not all the time.

There was the recall for the instrument cluster not illuminating, but assuming OP had that performed and/or it's resuming operation without any intervention (such as pulling the IC fuses) then it sounds like a novel failure such as a bad connection/trace.

Post a complaint to the NHTSA site. When enough people have the same issue it will get addressed. The alternative is to not post and deal with it.

Just to be clear it is the infotainment screen we’re talking about. I think it’s a software issue as it blinks off and comes back within a few seconds. Does not always happen. So probably not much to be done unless it is more predictable.

I agree, it’s confusing when he says instrument panel and then digital information.
But I can confirm that my infotainment screen goes black after starting and is black for a few seconds, but not consistently.

If Ford's description of the rear camera issue is accurate, that it was due to a software memory leak, the recall should improve the overall stability of the infotainment system. There should be fewer lockups, glitches and reboots.

My info screen goes dark every once in a while, just turn off and hold down OFF knob and forward arrow to reboot. when I hit a bump or small pothole my radio changes channel a large pothole it shuts off, then sometimes when hitting a pothole my washer fluid light comes on till I restart vehicle, likely both loose connections, mention to dealer they cant reproduce problem and am not pushing it, don't want them driving around hitting potholes, my screen used to freeze up while ON, dealer did a update and its much better. My 22 FX4 in like new condition, hope the newer Mavericks dont have these issues with sync 4 info screen.
