I’ve noticed in video reviews that the tailgate seems to not sit flush even with no load.
I think the Maverick tailgate always looks a little busted as a result.
Seems like the stock tailgate cables can be a touch too long allowing for it to "sag" a bit below the bedline-

I love a good riddle, but I'm drawing a blank on this one.. umm... They both piss off your neighbors?

I had an HD FXLR with straight pipes and no baffles for a season, and the people across the street were glad to see it go! My Indian's stock exhaust is pretty quiet. Love the color scheme on the Scout :)

Glad to see this! I've been wondering how my sportster would fit back there, looks like I won't be having any problems!

Definitely puts things into perspective how compact the Maverick really is.

By itself, the Maverick is so well proportioned that a photo taken in the right setting could make one think it isn’t much smaller than an F150.
Adding the motorcycle in frame changes that illusion quickly.
Great pic, question…. Do you worry about the securing with the finder included? It looks like you might be able to use the tire only to relieve pressure on the painted fender.

great looking photo…..congratulations

I have always thought the tailgate sag looked weird but my guess is that it’s that way on purpose. Having the sag prevents the likelihood that something flat extending out of the bed will carry the bulk of the load by the tailgate. It should make it more likely that the bed itself carries the load. Now that wouldn’t quite work that way in this situation with a motorcycle. Someone should load test the cables or bed to failure for a good YouTube video. Expensive one though to repair what you break.

It's just that the F150 is stupid huge. It's really not a great echo friendly way to transport a single person around - what a waste. The Maverick is really a great size.

I was just thinking the same thing! I'll need to check out the measurements of the Indian to get an idea of how it measures up to my Sportster 72.

I was comparing the specs on your Scout to my Road King Special and they are nearly the same length and weight!! This really opens up possibilities I didn't think was possible!! I figured that my Sportster would fit back there, but I figured that my RKS would be too heavy and possibly to long. Thanks for the post!!

absolutely not. I don't know why so many are freaked out about the tailgate.
I understand the tailgate is rated to 500 ilbs. I don't know what portion of the bike weight is over the tailgate alone, it's probably (?) under the limit. The concern is going over any bumps.....the increased force of the bike on the downward trajectory would increase the amount of perceived weight. That's what I'd be worried about.
