Is there something I'm overlooking, or does the Maverick lack a warning for freezing temperatures and potential ice issues? Every new vehicle I've had, even my 2015 Chevy Volt, displays a warning like "Ice Possible, Drive with Care." Surprisingly, my 2023 XLT Hybrid doesn't have this feature. Does the Lariat Trim include it, or is this another omission by Ford, akin to the absence of TSR on lower trim models?

My Escape did it but I have not seen it in my Maverick... yet.

Please, no. I don't want it.

It amazes me these things pop up and require you to take your eyes off the road to disable them. Like the "rock fall" notification. Seems like it would be safer just to not have it.

Winter so far around me has been very mild but I've driven in conditions where I know the Escape would have warned me.

Maybe Ford just trusts its owners to have an elementary understanding of physics that water freezes at 32F.
Looks like this will be a topic with differing views. Just a straightforward question. I'm aware water freezes at 32 degrees; I don't need to check the temp. Personally not a fan of the seat-belt reminders either, but hey, it's for our "safety." My question was whether this feature is on any trim level or if Ford excluded it from all trims.

Yet you can have ice on a road way above 32F.

Considering the outdoor temp is displayed in two locations, I agree that I would not want another pop up message. Ice conditions are too finicky around here to be trusting of anything beyond instinct and experience at this point. The truck won’t know toad conditions, weather patterns, etc… Ice isn’t guaranteed to exist on a roadway below 32F, nor is it going to disappear above it.

Agreed. Nags like that are a huge distraction. I would not be surprised if it was found that they caused more accidents than they prevented.

Wfemates EDGE has that (titanium package) and it annoys the snot outta me. My 2018 6.7L Dually Lariat does NOT have it; and thank goodness. If My Lariat FX4 Maverick AWD (no build date yet) has it I will be finding in FORSCAN how to disable it. Annoys the crap outta me. Kinda like Waze; People saying there is fog a thousand times on a trip. DUH, Everyone can see the fog. I use it only to tell me if there is cops on my trip. Now that would be AWESOME if they included that feature in the Sync or Sirius Traffic somehow.

The Maverick, at least MY22 doesn't do that. I've been in situations well below freezing, never had any stupid warnings.

Where I live, ice happens. About six months out of the year. It can be shiny, it can be covered by snow or it can be black. I try to drive accordingly.

Do you need to have your car warn you that ice may be present? am guessing not; what say you?
