I've never had the deep sleep message or any of the symptoms (no start, no lights, etc.) Went on vacation for a week leaving it parked. I remote started it after 3 days for 15 minutes just to be safe and no issues when I got back.Guess I will have to read up more about this... I am going to go on a trip and park mine for a week and that would really suck for it to have something goofy when I go back a week later and have a goofy issue
This in unfortunate as I was hoping it would fix the issuePeriodically charging for the past 1-1/2 years has not rectified the problem in my vehicle, but as some others have noted, it has never failed to start.
This isn't from sitting, I drive it 7 days a week so if you haven't had this issue already you should be goodGuess I will have to read up more about this... I may end up trying a better battery too if my trickle charger only gives me an extra day or two before sleep mode. Will going AGM for battery have any negative effects on the system at all?Depending upon trips and sitting unused time, and proximity of the key, charging to 100% is good for two days. Mine charges the battery higher when driving at night with the lights and seat warmers on, go figure. Early this morning, drive to BNI meeting in the dark, it actually charged to 84% SoC. Came out, drove to work, which is 1.5x farther, but now light out, nothing running other than the radio, sitting at 73% afterwards.
We really just need a higher capacity battery with a longer Reserve to accommodate the drain by the onboard electronics. I'll post graphs some day of a typical drop during communication events. It's pretty enlightening all of what goes on in the background.
Once I confirm an H5 will fit, I'm stuffing in an H5 AGM Battery with double the reserve capacity, and configuring the BMS for the larger battery. - Might not be until I have a replacement at the dealer one time under warranty, just isn't bad enough to worry about yet.
Hmm that is interesting. I never knew thatSeveral owners using Forscan have found our trucks came with the battery type set to AGM, even with the 'Enhanced Flood Cell' batteries installed. AGM batteries also tend to have a slightly higher voltage than a flooded cell, and bonus, most claim better resilience to charge cycles.
