my only order was for my Maverick.
Yeah just wondering how toyota does it. I think they just look at dealer inventory and get it transferred.

I'm curious about that myself. I had 2 coworkers order rav 4 hybrids, and one order a Prius, all 3 got them in less than 4 months.

They basically put a stock order in for it if you want something different from the allocations assigned to them. Then just wait for it to show up.

My neighbor was told 4-6 weeks to build and deliver her 4Runner last year. Then it got pushed back to couple weeks, and again and again until sales person said they couldn't predict anymore. It showed up after more than 3 months.

I don't see how any car manufacturer could go from order to manufacture to delivery in less than 90 days. The other thing is, Ford is slammed with special orders. Dunno if Toyota got the same amount or if they drew from existing stock.

It would be interesting to know how they do it.

Some people here would've had their maverick for over a year by now if they only had to wait 3 months lol.

I ordered my XLT Hybrid Oct 29th of 2021. It was finally built the middle of Sept. 2022 and shipped fairly quickly. By rail it went from Mexico to Illinois(?). I live in South Georgia. From there, it went to Jacksonville Fl. by rail. Now for the last two weeks, it has been sitting in Jacksonville waiting for a transport.
This is the first new vehicle that I have ordered. So I have no prior experience to look back on. But this has been one process that I never intend to repeat. My hope is that the Maverick will prove to be well worth the wait. If I ever get it.

My dealer was a small dealer, Chapman Holstram, Pennsylvania. At least small in physical size...but have two Ford dealer locations. Claimed to have sold over 2,000 Mavericks 2022, had delivered 60 or 70 when I picked up mine. As I plan to order another Maverick next year...I'll most likely order from them again. No issues and no complaints. I don't think size matters much...my local Ford dealer is HUGE...must be couple of hundred employees and have only claim to have only sold a few dozens. Margin has to be pretty small comparted to F150, Lightings and Mustangs...so some dealers don't push Mavericks since they are so hard to get.
No way a mom and pop group with 2 dealerships sold 2,000. Either they are part of a big network or that number is flat wrong. There are 3,000 or so Ford dealerships, and these 2 small ones sold 2% of the entire amount made so far? Even the mega dealers who pimped under invoice deals only sold like 600.

My understanding is they just assigned a vehicle already scheduled to the dealer on your behalf. It's not a "this is yours with all your exact options we will let you know when it is built" system. Also far less custom options.

It's a good system for getting them to customers fast. My boss got a corolla for his daughter, took about a month. But I'm getting the exact, to the spec vehicle I want (within the options available, wish there was seat ventilation, power passenger, etc.). I'd rather wait for that.

Today (Oct-23) marks one year.
Our Mav Hybrid arrived in Taft (Orlando) Sunday, Oct-16. It was unloaded and has been sitting on the ramp since then.
Dealer says Ford wants to deliver as many as possible to the customer before month-end in order to have a good month for them. So I guess we'll have it by Halloween!

I ordered my loaded Maverick XLT ECO few days before you and from the time ford said it was shipped it took a month to get to dealer, the excuse was shortage of truckers. It was worth the wait. 8 months and 4 days. I think because of fuel cost and shortage of drivers and your location there not moving without a FULL load

Same. I checked with the dealer about 10 days ago. The sales manager checked the status. Nothing to report update wise other than shipped. He indicated that the dealership was expecting several customer orders this week… including mine.
Did yours arrive? I'm not far from you in Salem, VA and mine has been sitting in Winston-Salem, NC since last weekend.

Hi. My Maverick is currently at Norfolk Southern Automotive Distribution Facilities in Petersburg Va (POE, VA). It’s been there for several days. Latest status is “actual placement: your rail car is parked at a ramp and available to unload.” since 10/21/2022 at 12:58am. Hopefully the status will change tomorrow.

It probably will. The final status will be UNLD which is unloaded. I'm hoping mine gets picked up for final delivery soon.
