On the subject of doors, so far I have yet to put a water bottle in any of the doors of my Maverick. The water bottle pocket is very over-rated in my opinion. I’d rather have a pocket in each door for things like a small umbrella, a wallet, a pair of gloves, a flashlight…. You know, the stuff we all have in our cars. Ideal solution? To me, go ahead and put the water bottles in the rear doors, and put a pocket in the front doors. Much more useful.
Good opportunity to utilize a new "FITS" type idea on the door panels and make it customizable for you needs.

The inside door handles let the door slip out of your hand if the wind is blowing from the rear, you have to pull the lever and grab the handle with the other hand to prevent the wind from blowing the door open in a parking lot. It would have been better to have the door release by the door handle.
Too much time on your hands...🙄

Hello all! I actually re-joined the club this morning just so i could support Mr Daubitz on this flying door issue. Ive had my truck since October and ive had the door flung out of my hand many times and no its not something your expecting when you open your door , its like having someone fling your door open and you dont have the time to react such as reaching for another grab position on the door. I baby my truck and always leave lots of room between my truck and other vehicles still i feel only my good luck has stopped me from damaging my truck or someone elses car ( and at the speed it flies open it would involve a body shop for sure) also when the door gets to the end of its travel its hard on the hinges and that sucks(makes me cringe). I drive a lot of different vehicles and this rarely happens . Some times when your approaching your vehicle and theres a strong wind you expect it and are careful opening the door, just think about how often you get a car door ripped out of your hands? Probably not often. Now i must say it probably happens to me more often because i drive trucks on snow removal and i get called out during the worst of the storms, but still Ive got your back on this one Mr Daubitz.

Get used to it. Simple.

OP would have had a heck of a time in the 1970s.

That Ford LTD was my first car.......green but a different shade.

Every Friday when I got paid, the tank got a fill up and the engine got another quart of oil. No need for oil changes very often....

Ya know, I thought of that the first time I looked at it. I was thinking the open end would have been better at the front than the back. I'll have to think about it when/if my XLT ever arrives.

This is the way. Your comment made me think about how the doors have a lot of customizable potential. I also have not put a water bottle in mine mostly because I am not all that thirsty, but there are plenty of things I would store there. [Thinking cap donned]
