Nothing in the OM. To active the first time, turn the headlights on then press the button. After the button will work whenever you need it with or without the headlights on.

Just gotta warn everyone to think about it before calling their dealer to switch to passenger side, it requires a special cheeto chip and will likely be pushed to MY2023.

Doesn't matter when they arrived Ford already paid the dealer to install them. Make them do it if you are unsure. I work for a dealer and I have a Maverick on the way.
