Nov 11, 1918: 107 years ago, a German delegate signed an Armistice with Supreme Allied Commander Ferdinand Foch, officially ending WW1.
The day is celebrated as “Armistice Day” across the world, officially being changed to “Veterans Day” by Congress to honor all U.S. veterans, not just those from World War I. The legislation was signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on June 1, 1954, and the holiday has since been a national holiday to recognize the contributions of veterans from all wars.
