Hey everyone— I’m interested to hear from hybrid (or ecoboost) owners who have 235’s on their trucks. Any change to power, feel, or fuel economy? Also, photos would be great! I have an XLT hybrid coming soon (🤞), and I’m thinking about getting Toyo Open Country AT3’s in this size. Thanks!

Hello Pacman , bought a set of 235/65/R17 s from a Maverick club brother down in Huntsville Alabama. My hybrid XLT came with a set of crappy Continentals 225/65/R17s have had three sets of them sorry but I do not like them at all. ☹ Put them on my Maverick when it had about 400 miles on it. Have not really noticed any difference on my Maverick maybe because of getting it broken have about 900 miles on it now handles great no loud noise from tires plenty of power no problem at all I have been getting between 44 and 48 miles to the gallon in town and 39 to 40 out on the road. At first very rough riding had 38 lb of air in them let them down to 32 pounds of air made

Some of the Toyo Open countries I’ve had for full size trucks have been crazy heavy which impacts start off fuel economy. Just a tip to check tire weight and know what you are getting into. .

Thanks for the heads-up. I believe the Toyo 235/65R17’s weigh 32 lbs. The Falken Wildpeaks in that size are 31 lbs. I *think* that the stock 225 Continentals weigh 26 lbs. Definitely a step up in weight, but I’m pretty sure it’s one of the lightest options.
Does anyone know of an AT tire that’s lighter than the Toyos or Falkens?

Well that’s not a huge difference. Mine were 10 ply Mud Tires and they were crazy heavy for my full size Silverado. That’s why I mentioned it. 5 lbs isn’t too bad.

Hello Pacman , bought a set of 235/65/R17s FALCON AT3W from a Maverick club dude down in CINCINATTI OHIO My hybrid XL came with a set of Continentals 225/65/R17. Feels like a truck with them on now. I really love them.

There's the Nokian Outpost APTs at 29.1 lbs although I'd almost be tempted to go with them at 225/65R17 where they're specced at 26.5 lbs. In theory; the Outpost advertised weights have been found in error in some instances. I believe the Outposts are manufactured at their Tennessee factory replacing the Rotiivas. If I hadn't picked up the Rotiivas for cheap last summer before the Outpost line launched I probably would have gone with them myself (especially with the Rotiivas being made in Russia).

The Rotiivas are a bit heavier at 30-ish pounds but Extra Load versus Standard not that it matters much for the Maverick. I didn't weigh the mounted assemblies to compare with my stock Lariat wheels and pretty much swapped them immediately but didn't notice any appreciable change. No unusual road noise other than they squeak a bit when brand new. Ride is comfortable even though I run them a bit firm at 40 PSI. Still get 43+ MPG. From my experience they're very good wearing, durable tires from running them on work fleet vehicles and give excellent snow traction on our plow truck even being 'only' a 4-season 3PMSF AT.

Hmm—I’ll have to check the Outposts out.👍

That’s light! I haven’t heard of many people putting 225/65 all terrains on. Definitely share your impressions and some photos when you get them.

10/32 tire tread brand new is why. That's pretty lame when most decent ATs are at least 12/32nds. No 3PMSF rating either.

Neither of those bother me much. I’m a 99% pavement driver, few adventures on the weekends. No real snow here either.

Also has a 60k mileage warranty. So again not worried.
