Yep, that’s me. In the process of exploring the transmission I broke a wire. That part is currently out for repair and I’m just waiting for it to come back. I have a road trip coming up in a few weeks, so I’m anxious to reassemble everything and get it back on the road.
I reviewed all the video of me poking around in the transmission and realized the quality is awful. I plan to reshoot it as I reassemble the transmission.
I did tear down the main shaft that I showed in that oldest video. As I suspected the splines on the center gear were completely stripped from the gear and the shaft. That is not a failure of fluid. It has to be either substandard materials or improper heat treating.

Got it back together three weeks ago and added about 2,000 miles. So far everything is working great. Will take an oil sample next week to serve as a base line and then another in 30,000 miles. Took a lot of hours and $1,000 but was much better than $8-9k from the dealer.
