I had a '22 Hybrid that I replaced with a '24 Eco and yes, you do need to drive differently if you want to get the maximun mileage benefit. To do that you need to stay in electric mode as much as possible on short trips. There are dashboard indicators that you can display to tell you when you are in electric or gas mode. Once you cross over to gas you lose the benefit and the best way to get back to electric is to ease off the pedal and slow down to stay in that zone. After awhile you get used to managing that more consistently, but there is a learning curve.

It sounds like you drive about 450 miles a month. For cost benefit I would suggest you determine how much of that is city driving for short trips. For those miles figure you would get 10-12 miles more per gallon with a hybrid. If 250 of those miles are city and you stayed mostly in electric it would take about 7-8 gallons as opposed to 11 gallons with the Eco or around 3.5 gallons a month or around 42 gallons a year. Is that cost savings worth it is the question. Most of my driving is in town but when I do take longer trips I love the extra power of the Eco when I need it and it is more enjoyable to drive. I figured the Eco would cost me around $150-$200 a year more in gas annually and for me it was worth it. Test drive a hybrid and have the sales person show you how the gas/electric display works. If you drive the hybrid the same way you would an Eco you will not get much benefit. Good luck.
I get your point….Round trip for the week of work is like 12 miles
Week getting grandson at school when bad weather about 10 miles max

Running daughter to work for the week maybe 10 miles with that too for the week

Weekly or bi weekly a 30 mile round trip for groceries

I am on my 3rd Hybrid.
My first was the Mercury Mariner Hybrid, I had for 10 years and never needed to replace the hybrid battery.
I recently traded in my 2024 Maverick Lariat FWD hybrid, lifetime MPG 49.7.
I now have a 2026 AWD Lariat hybrid, so far at 43 MPG but that will go up over time.
I prefer the hybrids over gas for the MPG.
I prefer the hybrids over electric because in a crunch I can always get gas somewhere, but plugging in to charge, after a hurricane and there is no power anywhere (Florida Keys) seems like that could be a problem.

The loyalty $1500 and a rebate are two separate things and should be usable together. You might even be able to swing the Farm Bureau $500 discount, but they might balk at that.
Can you provide more informatoin on the $1500 loyalty incentive? I just purchased a 2026 on Monday and talked extensively with multple dealers and Ford Motor Credit ( who I had my existing F150 loan with ) and there were no incentives for anything other than 2025 Mavericks and that is a cash back on existing inventory. I did receive an email from FMC with a $2000 loyalty incentive, but Maverick ( any year/any model ) are specified as not eligible.

Believe it’s only on the 25’s….$1,500 for the hybrid and $2,500 for the ecoboost…I have seen it on price break downs but can never get an answer from a dealer

I've found I actually get slightly better fuel economy if I have some spirited throttle up to my intended speed and then employ the throttle off/on to enter electric.

Both the dealer I purchased from, the others that were competing against them, and Ford Credit directly all confirmed this for me - only remaining 2025's are eligible for cash back.

Nice color.

Gas in Redmond, Wa is up to $5.99/gal depending on the station.

I do not fuel up in Redmond.
Some of the local stations in SLO County are as high as $6.99 and if you start getting close to S.F. or L.A., forget about it. $8.00 per gallon. The once great state of California has been driven into a ditch.

25 Maverick Hybrid is $1,000 or $1,500 if you own a Ford
25 Ecoboost is $2,000 or $2,500 if you own a Ford

Is what I’m understanding now

Definitely has me happy to have such a fuel efficient vehicle.

The old adage was “no replacement for displacement“.
Hmm..
Well if that is still true, that would tip the balance to the hybrid.
EcoBoost 2.0 L displacement
Hybrid 2.5 L displacement
The hybrid also has electric power, with full torque from zero RPM up.

That brings up another adage:
Torque wins races on Sunday, while horsepowe sells cars on Monday...

Perhaps not pplicable here, as in the case of the OP, he does not seem to be at all interested in betting pink slips for the best light to light race results.
There is no doubt that the EB is a faster, but that doesn't seem to be relevant in this thread.

On my 12 mile round trips to the closest thing that qualifies as civilization, I'm getting north of 45 mpgs, and that is something the EB can't match. With gas at $5/gal plus, not a major concern for a low mileage driver, but what about when it's $10...

There is a thread on site about high prices from online used car buyers for Mavericks, and the hybrid prices vs EB's are considerably more, likely due to fuel cost and the hybrid mpg difference.
When it's time to sell the used car, there could well be a difference then as well.

I recently check Carvana for pricing
They would give more for a 24 Ecoboost AWD 2,800 miles
Compared to a 25 Hybrid fwd 900 miles

So unless you drive a lot…a hybrid wouldn’t really help very much?
Drive less than 6,000 miles a yr
Very short trips to work…. Like a 2 miles😁

Give me your thoughts and opinions

I have the 24 eco… but I am intrigued about a hybrid
In any weather colder than 40 degrees, the hybrid is slow to warm up enough to use the HVB. If the hybrid system is not using the battery then the 2.5l is not only motivating the truck but also trying to charge the unused battery. I drive 35 miles each way to work daily and that is just about the minimum I have found to really start using the hybrid system efficiently in colder weather. I have had a MY22 Ecoboost, MY24 Hybrid, and now a MY25 Hybrid AWD with 4K towing. I liked them all but the Ecoboost seemed to be the most rounded. EB gets 30+MPG, can tow, good on short trips, and does not mind the cold weather. I drive about 20k miles each year so the hybrid works for me.

Can anyone explain the customer cash back?
Hybrid
I see for new 25’s….a 1,000 rebate
There is also a $1,500 loyalty bonus cash

Can these be used together?
I traded a 24 in for a 25 and did get the 1000.00 year end discount, a 1000.00 loyalty discount, and over 1000.00 discount for the X-Plan. Saved 3750.00 in discounts.
