Donald, I had the light kit installed by a truck accessories shop that installed my base plates. They did have to splice into the wires at the tail lights. It had to be restored back to original as well as original bulbs for Ford to to reassess the problem and to perform the download update and now the problem is gone. I did go back and put the lasfit Bob's back in after the repair and so far so good

So far after the Dealership doing a pin-point test which resulted in them replacing the rear jumper harness for the taillights nothing to report. Although...........I did remove my Lastfit LED's prior to this too. Gonna pop them back in and see if it happens again OR if it indeed was a Harness/Truck issue and not a LED issue.

I took my truck for the rear taillight issue and they said there were codes that it happened 3 times. They said the filament for the bulb was loose and probably shorting out, so they replaced the bulb. Doesn't sound like the right fix if other people are having the same issue too with only the passenger side tail light and the off and on trick works, but we'll see I guess...
Anddddd that didn't fix it, going back to the shop in a few weeks

So far mine has not gone out since removing the diodes for towing lights and they did a download on it. I still use the diodes but on separate lights for towing now. Good luck with yours.

My truck is in the shop for the 3rd time with this issue now. They just called and ford realizes they have a issue with the BCM and they are redoing them or something, anyways, there is not a new one available right now, so they will let me know when the new BCM is available and I will have to go back in for a 4th time.

Has the issue happened since? I am going to be going in to have first oil change done and that BCM recall done, but if you think that the pinpoint test/replacement was the fix? I have the same issue and I as well have the LASFIT LEDs. That way if the harness may have been the fix, then I can ask my dealership to please give that a quick test (if it turns out to be simple thing to get to / try).

As far as I can tell, it has not. Although I am still running OEM light bulbs. Mostly because during the summer (last year,) it’s hard to see at those times when I jump in the truck if it’s “doing it.” Will swap them back soon while it’s still dark out as I start my commute. See what happens.

Update the BCM , FORD has issued a recall for this issue.
Unless you are aware of another recall that I am not, I am not aware that this issue is related to the turn signal recall. Could it somehow fix the issue the OP and a few of us here are experiencing...yes... but the recall is as follows..

" Vehicle operators will not receive the intended increase in flashing rate notification to alert them that a single rear turn signal bulb is out. If the vehicle does not meet fmvss 108 intensity requirements, the vehicle may not alert other road users of an upcoming turn or lane change, which can increase the risk of a crash. "

to me that means the truck is not telling me that bulbs are out... not exactly anything dealing with "the whole lamp assembly is not working at times". I have the lariat version which has the LED accent trim around the tail light assembly, and the whole assembly was not illuminated until I turned off and on the lights physically (not on automatic). I will quote / link the link to my other post where I took a video of my assembly doing the same thing...To my understanding if it was just a bulb being burned out, the accent light around them would still be working and the truck would then be hyperflashing to let me know a bulb is out. Never heard of an assembly completely turning off power to all lights because a bulb is out until you replace the bad bulb.

to stop rambling on about nothing, am I aware of another recall or something to fix random assemblies acting up...no. Will the turn signal recall fix that issue....idk... but I am hoping somehow someway it can.

I encountered an issue with my 2023 XLT Hybrid yesterday where the right rear passenger light wasn't functioning properly. Although the turn signal and brake lights were functional, the running light wasn't working. I've been using LASFIT bulbs for both front and rear lights since I bought the vehicle last June. However, LASFIT recently sent me replacement front switchbacks, and the rear ones are on back order until April. Interestingly, despite the issue, all the bulbs are currently working fine.

After turning the truck off and back on again, the passenger taillight started working normally. I considered putting the original bulbs back in, but it seems that might not be the issue. I still have an open recall on the vehicle, so I wonder if the issue could be related to that. However, I decided to wait until the replacement LASFIT bulbs arrive before proceeding with the recall update, as there have been reports of the update causing issues with the lights in some scenarios.

As of now, the rear light is functioning properly again, but I couldn't replicate the issue after restarting the vehicle. It sounds like the problem might be computer-related or possibly related to the harness, but it's quite odd.

I had that exact issue as well. Turning the auto headlights to off then back to auto would fix it. The shop looked at it and couldn't replicate it, It only happened maybe 1/100 starts, so I'm glad I took the video because, I went back in there, showed them and demanded they do something about it, and they replaced the BCM and that permanently fixed it. There was no recalls when my issue was happening last year, so maybe the reprograming recall would have also fixed it.

It's indeed quite concerning. As vehicles become increasingly reliant on computer systems, diagnosing and fixing issues ourselves is becoming more challenging. The days of DIY repairs seem to be fading away, and instead, we're facing the prospect of needing to replace expensive modules or undergo specialized reprogramming with specific equipment. All of this is happening in the pursuit of fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness, but ironically, it's leading to vehicles being more disposable than ever before. It's a regrettable consequence of technological advancement in the automotive industry.

When it happens again, turn the light switch off then back on, it will work for a while. There is an issue but Ford will blame lasfit bulbs first. Before taking it back, replace your bulbs with original bulbs and take it when the problem is occuring otherwise they won't be able to duplicate it. I put my bulbs back in after they fixed the issue, they said it was a ground issue. It never happened again.

What did they fix?
