Hybrid powertrain longevity

I am curious on the reliability of the hybrid. I have a 2022 I bought exactly a year ago today. I have 30,000 miles. I previously had a 2012 Prius with 130,000 miles and zero issues.

I am curious who out there has the highest mileage on one of these trucks, more specifically the hybrid.

I have a 22 I bought in May of 22. I have 24k on it and the only issues I have had have been addressed by the dealer (TSB's, Recalls and CSP's) I also got a Maverick Yeti for doing the airbag recall. I kind of fixed my Bluetooth radio issue by getting an Apple Car Play dongle to stream my Sirius XM and MP3 music.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase!

I bought this one for 59.99 in August. It is not without it's flaws. I have to unplug it from the USB c occasionally but it works more than it doesn't.

Ford's been making Hybrids a long time. Much of the tech is/was licensed from Toyota. If it's like the old Escapes (and your old Prius), it will probably last a very long time.

The 2.5 hybrid has been around for well over a decade, and is super reliable. The wiring harness was a common failure point on early hybrid builds, but it seems to be mostly resolved on later 2022,23, and 24 models.

While I wish Ecoboost drivers the best, I predicted over a year ago that we'd see the hybrid issues drop off, and Ecoboost issues start to emerge as time progressed. That's basically exactly what we're seeing.

I bought this one for 59.99 in August. It is not without it's flaws. I have to unplug it from the USB c occasionally but it works more than it doesn't.

If you are having trouble with it dropping connection it's most likely you are connecting to it using Bluetooth (why sync 3 is drops connectivity). According to details in description it can also be connected using 5ghz WiFi so set it up to connect to phone through WiFi. Bluetooth is too slow to transfer the data packets. If that gives trouble then your cell phone tower signal may be the problem. Might get better signal if phone is near a window or maybe get a cell signal booster.

Hold down the power and track forward buttons until the infotainment system starts to reboot.

Properly maintained, I don't see why either version's PowerTrain couldn't go 200K, although the EB valves will need walnut blasting maintenance around 100K before hitting 200K. I think both are proven engines. Now the rest of the truck, well, that might be a little iffy

I am a 32 year retiree from Ford Motor Co. Worked in their R&D department in their Indianapolis plant. Ford and Toyota codeveloped the hybrid as it is known today. The eCVT transmission is bullit proof and is nothing like a CVT that is in a Honda. An eCVT is a planetary gear system with two electric motors. A standard CVT is two variable adjustable pullys connected by a large wide belt which becomes very noisy over time and is prone to failure. My Maverick is waiting to be shipped so I will probably get it late January or February. Looking forward to many years of reliability.

A documented Escape used for a taxi in NY city went 400,000 miles before battery went kapuzzed

Been seeing a lot of hybrid issues lately and I’ve had 3+ recalls on my 2022. Recently had the strut bearings replaced and today had the exhaust heat exchanger replaced.

I have the extended warranty through granger until 125k, but these issues and all the reported problems from others do make me concerned. Currently sitting at 35k on the odometer.

I love the look and usefulness of this truck though. Recently had the front grill insert painted to match the body color.
