I used the chat feature on the ford support site on Friday and though my hybrid XLT Lux 360 build is not scheduled for production yet, she was able to give me a VIN. Order confirmation was 9/10. I'm in North Alabama. Just an FYI

Has anyone who has ordered a hybrid received a build confirmation? Hopefully most of you all aren’t in my situation and are banking on this car to replace a car I recently totaled. We’re in this together!
I ordered a Hybrid June 10th and received and email indicating that it is scheduled to be built the week of December 6th.

Can you say a little more about how you got a VIN without having a production date?

I'm asking because:

(1) I would like to do this if it is possible, and
(2) Pretty much everyone else on this forum has said it can't be done.

So...
What is the URL for the website?
What information did you have to give them to locate your VIN?

Odd, my hybrid had a production date of 9/20, no updates, but today shows Est. Delivery of 10/18. Window sticker not updated. My wild guess is that it's built, but not EPA stickered yet, so they can't say Built or Shipped, but are expecting so soon. But WTF knows?

I simply asked if she could provide the status and gave her my Sales Code and Order Code from the order summary that my dealer gave me. I did not ask for the VIN, but she gave it to me and said that it was not yet scheduled for production. I was able to enter it into the tracker and it gave me the "In Process" status. Seems to be a legit VIN...

OK, I tried that. In the interest of completeness, I'll post the entire response I got.

I can most certainly provide the primary order status of the vehicle! However, I am unable to provide production dates, a VIN if it has not already been assigned, and an eta of delivery or completion.

I see that your vehicle is "In Order Processing"
. The order has been entered into the Ford Ordering System. It will then be scheduled and placed in the first available production week. The Covid-19 Global Pandemic has impacted the entire supply base and, in particular, has severely impacted micro-chip availability. In addition to the supply chain challenges, there was a February Earthquake in Japan which triggered a fire at one of the largest chip suppliers, Renesas. These events have impacted our ability to meet our regular production schedules. We apologize for the delay and we are presently exploring every opportunity to increase production and accelerate the delivery of your vehicle. We will provide updated information to customers and dealers as it is available. Please stay in touch with your dealer for more information and updates on the status of your order over the next several weeks.
Not very encouraging. And no VIN...

If you were hard up for a vehicle, a suggestion would be get an older ranger from around 2010, and then use it for trade-in on your new Maverick. I reserved a hybrid July 10th and haven't heard anything since the reserve notice.

That is a shame. She did not give me any of that other info on supply chain issues. I feel like having a VIN is encouraging, but who the hell knows?
