I had the check engine light around 1800 miles as well. I got P0811 code on OBD reader and it is tied to Transmission slippage. I went to dealership and they reset the code. Asked me to come back when the Check engine light comes back again for them to diagnose the issue
I got the check engine light again after 500 miles @3200 miles, dropped off the car at dealership, they said the engine dampener needs to be replaced, no ETA on parts or timeframe for the repairs. I'll get a better estimate on part availability and time frame for repair on Monday. Hopefully this will resolve the issue 🤞

Keep us posted if it fixes it after it comes in

The same thing just happened to me. Xl hybrid with just over 1000 miles. I was merging onto the highway and stepped on it pretty good.(first really giving it power since I bought it). Soon after the CEL came on along with a red exclamation point. The dash told me to pull over when safe. I pulled over restarted the car and it started just fine but the CEL stayed on. Took it straight to the dealership.

The dealership said that it had to do with the transmission but it seemed electrical. They said Ford had an update for this issue that they installed it into the Maverick. Unfortunately they said the CEL came back on while they were testing it. So now they are thinking it is something mechanical.

I understand that this is a first year vehicle but it is still disappointing for this to happen to a vehicle I've had less than 2 months. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake going with a Ford...

Same issue: Approx 1 week after I picked up my new Maverick XLT Hybrid, I was merging on the freeway and I accelerated sharply. The CEL came on. A day later it, reset and and turned off. Two or three days later, the same thing happened again. I took the vehicle to my local dealership. They took it in the shop and reported an hour later that the CEL was due to a transmission error. Upon further investigation, the shop reported that the CEL was reportedly due to a malfunctioning engine dampener.

My dealer feels that replacing the dampener will not fix the problem- rather they believe the full transmission needs to be replaced.. They consulted with the corporate Ford service engineers assigned to the Maverick who told them that they had to first replace the dampener. If that did not rectify the issue, then they would consider a transmission replacement. Unfortunately, parts are difficult to obtain so the dealer isn't even sure when they can get a new dampener, let alone a full transmission.

Until then, I continue to drive the Maverick and try not to accelerate too quickly on the freeway.

My XLT Hybrid was delivered to the dealership yesterday. I am scheduled to pick it up today. Dealership called me to tell me when they were driving the truck on the lot that the CEL turned on. They have their techs looking at it now. I'm scheduled to pick it up in a couple hours

Please update if they give you a code and if they're able to diagnose the issue.

He said it was the crank shaft position sensor. They said it's possible that because it sat so long during production that there were some software patches that didn't jive with the module. They replaced the module, refreshed the system and the code cleared.

Is this the dampner issue we heard about?
