Hybrid badge

I went with the Hybrid/AWD badge in the original place for the previous gen even though I have a '25. I like the factory look and if it helps with AWD access points, HOV lanes or green vehicle parking that's a bonus.

Put exactly the same badge on my 25' because of the above reason - especially for the "fuel efficient" parking they offer.

.Far less hybrid inventory on dealers lots than turbos. You can’t sell what you don’t have. If that buyer has to order, they are much less likey to buy. Ford want customers to come in, test drive, and sign on the dotted line, that day.

30K warranty on turbos and hybrids BUT, as per federal law, hybrid batteries are required to be warranted for 80K. More money out of Fords pocket long past the basic 30K warranty should they have to replace a battery before that time.
Turbos, on the other hand, have a less than stellar record around 60-70K. The owner gets to give Ford more money for possible replacements.

If other drivers on the road see a little Mav on the road, like it and think about buying one, and don’t know that a hybrid model exists, well, Ford is fine with that.


These are few reasons why I said what I did.

Oh, and when gasoline hits record highs, and rationing begins, hybrid owners like myself will be better understood.

Note the mileage on trip 2. This is real mpg. You can’t fake this.

Meh. It was rude of me to say "insane," but just because you've rationalized it in your head doesn't make it fact.

There are over 100 hybrids on dealer lots within 20 miles of me. Fewer than Ecoboosts, but hardly scarce.

The hybrid powertrain is literally the default choice if you start a Maverick build on Ford's website.

The financial deterrence on CAFE standards was removed by legislation last year, but you can bet it's coming back sooner rather than later. Ford knows that propagating hybrids and getting consumers to fall in love with them is in their best interest in the longer term.

Ford removed those hybrid badges (and the AWD badges, and never even bothered to add Ecoboost badges) to save pennies per truck, plain and simple. No conspiracy theories needed.

Before 2025 it was more of a supply issue for Ford than demand. I don’t think they anticipated that so many people wanted hybrids, and thus had not secured the needed supplies to make them. For 2025 supply finally caught up, adding AWD and 4K towing got a lot of converts as well.

BTW, have you noticed how EB owners like to disrupt hybrid owners threads and topics? We don’t put our two cents into EB threads, we don’t care that they choose a turbo. I have never interjected my opinion in the EB forum. I could care less what they are talking about.

I figure it must be EB owners trying to affirm themselves by trying to degrade hybrid owners . We know we made the right choice, for us, not sure they feel the same way, and are confident, about their choices.

Someone needs to explain to these guys that a Prius is not the same as a Maverick hybrid. Hundreds of hybrids on the market and they seem to think the Maverick and Prius are the same.

The higher gas prices get the more I notice low MPG pickups longingly looking at me as I fill up.

Prices at the pump won’t hurt as bad for hybrid owners. Shortages will still suck, but, again, not as bad for us.

The shortages and unavailability coming are going to rock peoples worlds.

BTW, Europeans are coming out to their cars parked overnight only to find their tanks drilled and their gas stolen.

As bad as the OPEC shortages were in the early 70’s, at least the people weren’t doing that. Since most cars didn’t have locking gas caps, or doors, siphoning was the means to steal others peoples gasoline.

Thank god we’ve progressed as a society to where we drill into tanks and ruin someone’s car to get our stolen fuel.

Put a sticker on your fuel door that says "fill with E85 ethanol only".

Uhg, got my first tank of gas @ $4.999! Up 90 cents a gallon since early March and a dollar 40 since mid Feb. So very glad my truck is a hybrid and thinking of replacing our Buru (18mpg) with an EV!

Filled my hybrid for the first time since January - $5.10! But I'm at 42.5 MPG after a year of ownership, so I can't really complain. It's a lot better than my former Ranger (20-ish).

And I removed the 'hybrid' badge from mine because there are douchenozzles around that will mess with anything hybrid or electric just to confirm their 'tiny penis' status, and I don't need that.

The DMV also includes an 'EV' sticker for your plates (here in WI) and charges you an additional $75 every year. I won't say what I think about that.
