Agreed. Its crazy that Ford could have chosen ANY sound and this is what they decided on
No. This is not true.

While Tesla, Toyota, Chevy, Ford, all sound a little different, they all sound similar. An automobile needs to sound like an automobile and not like a Star Trek creation.

I always have the windows up and usually music playing (rarely above 12). I hear the backup beep but the low speed fwd safety sound? I've never heard it.

My truck seems very quiet at all times except when I'm thrashing the ICE.

I may be going deaf. Just ask my wife.

Just received a '25 Lariat Hybrid with 4K tow, and so far so good. Loving the mileage, and it's quite comfortable as well. Looking forward to many years of service with it. Though the one thing I'm going to have to get used to is the artificial sounds the truck makes. I can deal with the pinging when in reverse, but the artificial noises the truck makes when slowing down to a stop, or when it's stopped in gear seem odd. When slowing down to a stop, it sounds like gear noises winding down, and although at first I thought it was actual gear or engine noises, I'm now pretty sure it's just artificial noise the truck makes. I understand the reason for the noises so it's not completely silent when running on battery, but it still will take some getting used to.
Its still better than the Toyotas Space ship sound....they did that for safety !

Seems that my 2025 makes mechanical noises that I feel, not just hear. As if they were coming from motor/transmission at speeds usually below 35 mph. I don't think I would feel the vibrations unless we have 10" subwoofers under the truck. Sounds and feels like buzzing/clunking to me. My old 2011 Prius did not do this. And if this just "safety noise", the person who decided to go with this noise track needs to be demoted.

My 2024 Hybrid makes all kinds clicking, burping sounds especially in the garage. I don't think any of these really are truly shut "Off".
Ya - wrong noises being discussed.

As posts have pointed out, slower than that even. Or wrong noises.

The RAV sounds like a siren coming from behind you when you slow down to a stop. I am always checking the rearview to see if it's me or an emergency.

I don't really hear the forward below 20 sound either, if front window is down more wind noise of course.
Just barely can make it out different than the motor noise when starting, sometimes.
I can tell others hear it when they look up and around. The surprised look of the sound coming from a truck is becoming less and less as I see more and more of the Mav's.

If anyone really wants to hear it - find an alley type street next to solid brick wall, roll the windows down in a way to minimize wind noise - you'll hear it probably.
Unless the surface is gravel.

When did pedestrians loose the right of way?
Misnomer - most places don't give right of way to pedestrians UNLESS they are already in the cross walk because they started when safe to do so. Some exceptions of course with signs usually supporting that difference.

If a car is coming they aren't supposed to enter the crosswalk or attempt to cross when not safe to make it - because traffic has right-of-way.

The description you responded to says they hear it see him and keep going anyway.
Either driver is missing a sign giving them right of way or they have the common misunderstanding.
Or it's a parking lot that is private property and isn't required to follow rules of the road always.

wouldn't it be fun to be able to program our own "noise" Like
"Hey I am backing up"
Photon torpedoes launch sound from Star Trek
baby crying
etc?

It would be fun. For you.

Then imagine busy parking lots or garages if everyone just added "whatever".
