That's a killer rig. What's your average MPG with that load and wind drag? Based on my towing nearly 4k, sometimes the MPG hit and strain make it much wiser and financial sense to just use my F250 gasser as it does not care much about 4k lbs.
This is how you do it: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/mpg-correction-tutorial-afe-bias-adjustment-via-engineering-test-mode.58342/post-1131838
That fuel jug in the back makes me nervous unless it is empty...lol. I would keep the a full jug in the bed and figure out how to modify that fuel jug carrier into a motorcycle track stand.
Generally, each 1,000 lbs in towed weight deducts about 5-6 mpg, an easy way to calculate your expected MPG on a 2025 Hybrid Mav. This is my towing experience.
Wow Andy! That worked. Thank you for taking the time to explain your detailed procedure. On behalf of all the 2025 model year owners....thank you! - Gabe
Tried it...did not work on my 2025 Lariat Hybrid. Mine is CA CARB compliant...so maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe it is a CA thing.
Tried every combo on my 2025 Lariat Hybrid....could not access the Engineering Test Mode. Has anyone figured out if even possible in the 2025 Hybrid models? From my experience, it does not appear to be possible.
Ford Flexible Rack System

This would have been the almost perfect Maverick rack system ...that was never produced. This system would sell well, if they...
CA DMV is red tape bureaucratic fxxxxxx mess when dealing with registering any out of state purchased and registered vehicles. They will require VIN, Motor #, and smog inspection by DMV...and if that does not go well, then CHP who has their own rules. If the vehicle does not have a CARB...
Good to see TFL is honest with their MPGs...i got basically got the same results..just a bit worse, towing the same gear and driving into 18+ MPH winds. Generally, each 1,000 lbs in towed weight deducts about 5-6 mpg, an easy way to calculate your need for fuel.
My RT drive from San Diego CA to Buckeye AZ facts:
Car in tow-haul mode RT
AC used in the desert RT
Electric trailer breaks boost adjusted for empty then again when loaded
Trailer was near new with like new condition tires
Elevation climb close to 5,000 ft each way
Via Hwy 8
Calm winds to AZ...
Just across the front , to create a wind block? The front cross rack is about 6" above the roofline. Never considered doing that, but I guess they do sell them for roof car racks. No plans to tow over 2k with the Mav for anything more than just around town, as I do have a F250 that is much...
Finally got to try out the towing capability of my 2025 Hybrid. Towing an empty 16" x 8.5"dual-axle (3500) all steel Carson trailer weighing approximately 1800+ lbs, I got 23 mpg avg on 300 miles with an elevation climb of close to 5,000 ft and was able to average 65 mph.
On the way back...
Just recently carried my Hobie Outback on my bed only racks. Zero issues mounted and strapped to the truck racks on a windy 100 mile RT journey to the bass lake. I had these racks on my F250 8ft bed and they actually are so adjustable that they fit just as well on my new Mav.

I have always liked how Ford had keyless entry my past Fords and my current F250. I use it when it does not make sense to carry my keys/fobs. Would like to add the option if available. Searched this forum with no luck. The Ford site does not offer one.
Seems that my 2025 makes mechanical noises that I feel, not just hear. As if they were coming from motor/transmission at speeds usually below 35 mph. I don't think I would feel the vibrations unless we have 10" subwoofers under the truck. Sounds and feels like buzzing/clunking to me. My old...
Do you have a link for the USB light?
Agree with the lane keep and adaptive cruise control, they work so well. Much better than my experience on 2019 Lexus 350 system. If the steering could handle tighter 45 mph turns and slow down on its own, it would be like a stripped down version of...
