HUGE key/fob

Leave the key in the cup holder or something.....I never take my keys unless its pouring down rain or something like that. Now with the phone app able to unlock and start I doubt key ever leaves it.

My booboo in that I did not ask a question. In an different thread it was determined that if (when) approaching vehicle with the key fob certain noises, presumably the HVB contacts closing in order to preheat battery and/or other things (presumably if in park and/or maybe electric brake if set it would reengage as presumably it disengages when HVB disengages???). Thus if fob is left in truck it would presumably stay in ready mode unnecessarily placing a drain on HVB until possibly timing out(???). Thus implying the need for a faraday cage if fob is left in or within range of the vehicle????

This is a great idea! While I'm a little nervous leaving the key in the truck for fear of making it easier to steal, maybe I could find a nice place to hide it. Not telling you guys where, though!

Something with the “cubby” should work…or in the base of the huge water bottle the doors accommodate…

The "dumb" key fob on the left is longer in its working position than any of the other "smart" FOB's we have. L-R: Mazda, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, and AA battery for reference.

My Mazda3 had the best set up. It was a fob that contained a physical key that could be completely seperated from the fob. It was much smaller overall than the Ford fob. With my Mazda I could go for a run, leave the fob in the car and tie the keys to my shoe. I need a dang backpack for this Ford key.

Probably no bigger than my 18’ Mustang key. I don’t find that Hugh at all.

Same size...

All three of my newer Fords have this fob.
