i sent a note to southwell to ensure they would be welcoming at that date and time. i had planned to take my grandson to a auto-x event that weekend in the maverick so not sure i'm "in" yet....

Brian Southwell sent me a note saying 9/17 @ 7PM is good with him and said if I confirm he will stop by. Guess I'm obligated now!

Well I got an email from Planet Ford today to get on the reservation list. Apparently they are expecting a lot of orders (surprise surprise) and I went ahead and placed an “order” with them that we will amend once the system opens and it’s actually received by Ford. They said in writing “there will be no markup”. We’ll see. No money down yet.

Also had Long Lewis call me to do the same. They wanted a $100 deposit to get on the reservation list for first day order submittal.

I just got the email from Planet Ford that everyone else has been getting, that ordering our '23 is pushed back to September 15th. So we might get a Maverick at some point before the end of the decade.

Planet Ford tried to tack on over $2100 of dealer addons and fees to an XLT EcoBoost that was a custom cancel. They even tried to tell me that their ”DNA Anti-Theft” wasn’t a removable addon, even though it is window etching that isn’t even etched on yet. This is especially ridiculous considering they made $500-1000 off of the cancelled custom order already.

Autonation Katy tried something similar. I told them both to take a hike. I’ll be ordering my 2023 Hybrid XLT at Helfman tomorrow.

Just spoke with a salesman at Mcree who told me that order banks for the MY23 Maverick will be opened in about a month or two.
