Guys, google “GPF Maverick” to see what they look like. You can bend down and spot one easy without depending on stickers or labels or whatever. But don’t kick the tires - that is a rookie mistake.

So show us a pic of one, or provide a link - I've found zilch.

How about you show a pic of one. I already know what they look like so I don’t need a pic.

I did post a thread with a picture a couple months back on this forum. Search for that too?

Oh I have one - and it’s spectacular.

You may also want to start researching how to tell if you have a spare tire on a 2026 Maverick. Where will that option be located? Sticker? Decal? It’s so confusing:(

So be a helpful Mav owner, show us your google 'GPF Maverick' link for a pic - you said it could be done, I'm curious.

I was wrong - it can’t be done darn.

Note all the tubing/sensors on the GPF. Not to confused with the smooth exterior of your catalytic converter:

You’re welcome. BTW, Probity, Hybrids will not be equipped with GPF’s. Maybe that is why you could not find a picture…

Any pointers on how to tell from the window sticker if a Mav has a GPF (assuming it was produced in "Job 3").

Thank you!
Maybe a shot in the dark, no idea, but maybe look at ford dealers maverick inventory in a CARB state and see what the online window sticker shows and compare that to dealers inventory in a NON CARB state 🤷‍♂️

Current CARB states:
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
District of Columbia
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Rhode Island
Vermont
Virginia
Washington

GPF’s should be showing up soon in the CARB states. I think Ford starting equipping them for CARB states in late July.

I’m guessing California maybe Nevada get them first!

Note, I have no idea if what I'm posting here is correct, I'm just throwing it out there as food for thought..... It's all confusing to this old guy, there's certainly a lot of confusion on this subject and I'm glad I'm not in the market for a new vehicle and not in a CARB state, who knows how it will be when the dust settles. Anyways, I was curious about the "hybrid not being GPF equipped", I thought, well that's strange, a hybrid still has a gasoline engine, so why would it be different than a regular ice gas engine, so I googled the question and the google AI came back with: 🤷‍♂️

"Yes, hybrid vehicles in "CARB states" (states that have adopted California's Advanced Clean Cars regulations) will likely be required to have gas particulate filters (GPFs) or equivalent technology to meet upcoming particulate matter standards, starting with model year 2026 and later, under the new California Air Resources Board (CARB) II regulations that were finalized in 2023. This requirement is part of a broader effort to reduce criteria pollutants and improve air quality, as the CARB has indicated that action is needed to ensure robust control of particulate matter from vehicles."

I also found this site with info:

To make matters even more confusing - just as Ford began limiting production (due to GPF shortage) to CARB states only in late July, the EPA made changes to CARB requirements & CAFE regulations.

This coming Tuesday, Mr Bartz will post his weekly scheduling YouTube video. It will be for the first week of 2026 scheduling - I’m sure he’ll update the GPF situation.

Up to now, Ford has only put GPF’s on EB’s not Hybrids.

Per GROK3 AI:
“Ford Maverick Hybrids are not equipped with Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPFs). GPFs are being introduced on the 2025 Ford Maverick with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine to meet stricter emissions standards, particularly for direct-injection gasoline engines that produce more soot. This results in a 12-horsepower reduction (from 250 to 238 hp) due to increased exhaust backpressure. [](https://fordauthority.com/2024/08/heres-why-the-2025-ford-maverick-ecoboost-is-down-12-horsepower/)[](https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/hey-all-you-engine-tech-phobes-2025-maverick-loses-12-hp-and-gains-a-gpf.390463/)

The hybrid Maverick, powered by a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle engine, does not use direct injection in the same way and produces fewer particulate emissions, so GPFs are not required. Posts on forums like MaverickTruckClub and Reddit confirm that only EcoBoost models are slated to receive GPFs, starting with Job 3 production in summer 2025. No official Ford statement or source indicates GPFs for the hybrid powertrain.[](https://www.reddit.com/r/FordMaverickTruck/comments/1inr00t/so_the_gas_particulate_filter/)[](https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/no-gasoline-patriculate-filter-yet.60346/)
