correct no starter on Hybrid. Your eco boost has a starter.Ignorant here, no starter?
Most likely the ones that don't work are attempting to verify proper connection +to + & - to - and battery is too low or has relay tripped switch to disconnect 12v at a low voltage? If so a jump starter that has a 12v "force on" option should provide current on hybrid and work. If on EB then perhaps jump starter will not have enough amps?Just something to look out for when buying a boost pack. Some obviously work but I've read about certain models having issues working properly with hybrid vehicles.
Still ignorant lol. What starts the ICE engine in your hybrid then?correct no starter on Hybrid. Your eco boost has a starter.
The High Voltage battery in the hybrid. (not the regular 12 volt even though it has one)Sti

This is sounding familiar. Most likely the ones that don't work are attempting to verify proper connection +to + & - to - and battery is too low or has relay tripped switch to disconnect 12v at a low voltage? If so a jump starter that has a 12v "force on" option should provide current on hybrid and work. If on EB then perhaps jump starter will not have enough amps?
To add to this, MG1.The High Voltage battery in the hybrid. (not the regular 12 volt even though it has one)
one of the electric motors in the trans axle starts the ICE, it runs off the high voltage battery.Sti
Still ignorant lol. What starts the ICE engine in your hybrid then?
MG1 starts the ICE, using the HV battery. To do this, the 12v battery's job is to operate a relay to energize the HV battery. It also powers the electronics, etc. in the truck. The 12v battery does not actually start the ICE.one of the electric motors in the trans axle starts the ICE, it runs off the high voltage battery.
yes, I know, but I don't think the person that asked knows what MG1 is.....that's why I said one of the electric motors in the trans starts the ICE.MG1 starts the ICE, using the HV battery. Well, they may not know what the ICE is, either!yes, I know, but I don't think the person that asked knows what MG1 is.....that's why I said one of the electric motors in the trans starts the ICE.
It is the safety override procedure for a jump box when trying to jump a vehicle that won't start due to a completely dead 12v battery. Jump box user manuals 'splain how to use the override option. If a jump box didn't work because "Hybrid," the override probably needs to be enabled....a jump starter that has a 12v "force on" option should provide current on hybrid and work...
FWIW Mild winter in Texas Hill Country so far this year = U-Pick strawberries are ready for sale in Marble Falls! It is the safety override procedure for a jump box when trying to jump a vehicle that won't start due to a completely dead 12v battery. I'm in sunny dry Calif.Well, they may not know what the ICE is, either!![]()
