Tranny, I call it like I see it.

Lincoln claims the 2.5l Atkinson Hybrid Corsair has 266hp combined. Can they put that version in the Maverick? But hybrids with gears? 2.0EB “manual box” would be a sale for me!
The Nautilus has 2.0EB Hybrid with 286hp combined.
Put “those” in the Fords (and destroy what’s left of Lincoln?).

I have a 25 Lariat, it is my second Mav and i just love it.. I was a ford mechanic way back when and for some reason decided I should go out and look under the hood of my Mav, after staring at it for a few minutes, I could not even figure out where the spark plugs were.. About the only thing i recognized was the windshield washer fill tube.. So I laughed at my self and shut the hood..

That was good advice you gave yourself. We know, as old mechanics, not to start looking for problems, if there isn't any. Start reading your owners manual so you know what new things we never saw before, what todays vehicles have, and no longer have.

The flux capacitor is behind the rear seat, and you have to use Forscan to enable the gigawatt gauge.

Was mechanic in 60s. Did lots generators. Especially Fords. They put on bottom of engine. Got wet often. So, looking at my Mav, trying to spot the alternator. Seeing if Ford changed.

That was good advice you gave yourself. We know, as old mechanics, not to start looking for problems, if there isn't any. Start reading your owners manual so you know what new things we never saw before, what todays vehicles have, and no longer have.

What, you don't want to do preventative maintenance of replacing a 50 cent seal, when all it's gonna cost you is the $5 in snapped and stripped bolts, going 23 hours into a 1 hour job, and the one highly expensive thing it was connected to dying in the process ???

Wanting to do work on our vehicles is a 'dead give-away' that we're old. When I opened the hood of my ol' 58 Meteor (Canadian Ford), half my view was of the engine, and the other half was the driveway below, and EVERY key component was visible and accessible to remove and fix. I remember whining about the fact that it took time & effort to change the 8th spark plug on my '68 El Camino SS396. Rebuilding its carburetor is a story for another time.
