You gotta do what you gotta do. Hope you get scheduled soon.
Me too. I have a 2020 Ecosport nice car. Just want a maverick. Had one in high school. Brings back memories.

I've been advocating for patience on here (hey, more time to add on to the deposit!) but no schedule email in 2 months and my dealer suddenly going incommunicado has gotten a little frustrating. I've looked around at other trucks I wouldn't mind owning (Ranger, Colorado) but the pricing is just ridiculously outrageous and in some cases I'm seeing literally half the fuel economy of the Maverick. I'm pretty tired of my current vehicle, aside from not having a monthly payment anymore. Didn't want to succumb to the impatience but I just really want to get into something new. Problem is, I'm just not crazy about anything besides the Maverick.

I reserved our BS Badlands in Jul/2020 and ordered in Aug/2020 with an initial delivery by Dec 31, 2020 ("...at the latest...")

I had 3 "official" delays and we had decided that if the Badlands wasn't in our driveway by Mar 31, 2021 = then we'd walk away...

Needless to say, our Cactus Gray Badlands rolled off the transport trailer on Mar 30, 2021 and was in our driveway as Wife's birthday gift. She loves it and the wait time (with delays) was worth it...

Perhaps the amount of work my employer throws at the dealer (several F150's plus maintenance, repairs and servicing) helped with my pressure squeeze (I utilized the same fleet contact), but the dealer knows I'll be ordering my Hybrid XL Maverick from him

I'll add on to the patience advocation! The Maverick has only been officially announced since June, which is crazy to me that its only been 3 months since I even knew about it. Before this truck, I had almost bought a Jeep Gladiator, until I saw how gigantic it was in person (and it's only an ICE, come on FCA...). Same with the F-150 Lightning. I really want a fully electric truck, but I abhor the CyberTruck look (and it's not even close to releasing) and the obsession corps have with only providing large trucks.

Maverick hit basically all of my requirements. I've been waiting around 5 years for a decent truck to replace/augment my current car ownership, and it's finally arrived. Even if my car died before the truck came I'd be waiting. I know others don't have that luxury but for me I want to reward a company for finally making a truck in a reasonable size.

I ordered a 2wd Hybrid XLT in Alto Blue with lots of toys, lux pack, moonroof, rear window, trifold cover, 360 copilot. It's might be my last vehicle, definitely my last new one as I'll be fixed income soon. (Happy Retirement present to me ) My current Avalon only has 63k on it & my dealer put a "preliminary " number on it that I'm happy with so I'm good with waiting for exactly what I want.
I remember a time before all this instant gratification & feel the wait just makes you enjoy the moment more when it finally gets here.

Given that this is a poll and only 25% responded with giving up within the next 3 months, and 35% responded they'd "Never give up", I don't think "instant gratification" is applicable here...

I'm willing to wait till at least the end of the year. I have started looking at alternatives though.

I'm not sure that I have any reason to "give up."

If I hold on, at most I'll lose 50 cents of interest that my Maverick deposit could have made over the next year, so I might as well keep that iron in the fire.

I put a clause in my purchase contract that allows me to refuse the truck and get a full refund if I don't like it, so there is really no risk to me.

If I find something I like better in the meantime, I might go for that and dump the Maverick, but I don't really think of that as "giving up." It's more like changing horses.

Meh, I was the first person at my Dealership to get their Maverick order "pulled" by Ford to be built. Dealer said it was too late for me to make changes. I ordered the Hybrid XLT with spray-in bed liner. No build date scheduled for me. I should have just gone with a bare XLT hybrid and it might have got built. Oh well, the Bronco production is finally dialing up so I'll probably take my Maverick for a test drive upon it's delivery and than see if the dealer wants to play pricing games. If they want anything over MSRP I'll turn around and walk and wait for my Bronco Badlands.

My plan was to wait until February when most consumers have blown money burning a hole in their pockets from not having gone on vacations or out to eat much was spent on cars and a house and other big ticket items over the Christmas/newyears holidays, but I'm hearing that now they think 2022 will be just as bad.

Yeah, its literally everything that comes out of Asia is basically causing huge holdups. Even just a mulching mower blade for our mower was on backorder for 5 months before we remembered we still never got our order and cancelled.

This should be a wakeup call that outsourcing the entire world's production to East Asia was maybe not such a great idea. Imagine if China decides to invade Taiwan and the US is required to go to war per treaty, the entire economy would come to a standstill.

I understand economy of scale and everything, but this is just getting silly where 3/4s of the world's production of some major commodity is all made in one factory in China. We saw this before with hard drives and memory, where a single factory floods or is damaged, and the whole world has a parts shortage.
But, our government and big companies NEVER LEARN this! Just keep putting all the "chips" (pun intended) in one basket!

I have a 2 year old Escape and the option to cancel order/refuse to buy, so, I'm in no hurry!

Nothing comes close to the Maverick in regards to function and price. My current will last for several more years...I can wait.
Same here. I wasn't even in the market for a new vehicle. I usually keep mine about 12 years.

Having previously owned a 1998 Ford Ranger Super Cab and am now on year 7 on my 2015 Honda Fit I did miss having a Truck.

And low and behold "Cue Heavenly Music" Ford presented an inexpensive Hybrid Truck.

Ordered and am patiently waiting for it to be built. The Fit is in great shape so it will keep me going until the Maverick is delivered.

I didn't vote at first because I was not sure. I didn't have a good alternative. I just learned about the Kia Niro (53 City / 48 Highway) . It is not my first choice but I feel like it is a good alternative to the Maverick. I think if i am not scheduled by November/December I may pick one up at an end of the year sale. It costs a few thousand (MSRP: From $24,690) more but gets better MPG so I feel like that is a fair trade.

I voted end of year, but not as a drop dead time frame for delivery. I'm willing to wait until year-end to reevaluate my options. If I have received a scheduling email and the build hasn't been pushed back I'll stick it out until the end.
