Found a new XL hybrid with hitch and full size spare. Sticker is $27,285. Out the door price with tax title and plates comes to ?$29,500. How does the sound/compare.
The 899 is a BS dealer fee why they gave the 495 discount

How does this compare to other 24 prices

Sounds about right , going rates depending on area and dealer. If you do the. Farm bureau member at least 30 days before you can save another $500 from ford too.

My 23 XLT Hybrid (delivered October 2023) with mats, no special color, was $26,735 plus tax/title ($1183.04) plus other dealer fees ($1,101.74) which totals $29,019.78 OTD

Have you tried looking round to see what other dealers near you have in stock? I’d be reluctant to pay above MSRP for any vehicle. Especially now that supply chains are back to normal, markups are just greed.

XL’s are in short supply in my area, especially so for hybrids. Lariats and a few XLTs are setting on the lot, my closest dealer has a dozen of them. Almost all Ecoboosts.

On the other hand, if you’re willing to pay above MSRP, it is your money.

“$829 taxable fees (estimated)“ raises a red flag in my opinion.

Personally, I can’t believe how quickly the affordable $20k truck went up in price and barely qualifies as an entry-level vehicle nowadays. Instead it is a profit driver for Ford.

If the vehicles they sell aren't profit drivers why would they build them? I think the pricing structure was developed before all the crazy government spending/inflation. My 22 XLT with several options was $27,500 out the door 2 years ago, and in Arizona thats almost $1000 in registration costs. I think a similar one now is $31K. The dealers will always charge whatever they can, its buyer beware, and if it is a popular model well then they get a premium price.

That doesn't sound like a very good "deal" on an XL. While it isn't fair to compare '22 pricing, I spent ~$23,500 on my XLT hybrid with options. I feel like if you shopped around you could find an XLT with a couple of options for that price.

There's a 22 Hybrid Lariat near me for just under $29K + TTL. It says clean title, no accidents, and only ~1,300 miles. I'd sure be considering something like that vs paying this much for a 24 XL with few options. I do understand the hesitation on a 22 and I wonder why it has so few miles (new engine??).

The "$20k truck" was before inflation and high demand after a couple years of low production due to covid and a run on any used vehicle with a working engine.

To give Ford credit they did keep the original price that first year. Had inflation not hit like a b----, I'm sure the market for the cheap truck wasn't going to be as strong as it turned out to be. Ford never even thought to have a dedicated plant to make it in. That's how little they thought the production needs would be. Until inflation hit and suddenly that $20-$30k pickup was mouthwatering to most people needing/wanting a new vehicle (be it truck or car).

And secondly, that $20k MSRP never included delivery, taxes (depending on state), and fees.

That's the build price on Fords website. Sounds right to me and compared to the one I bought. I added the power seat package which added another $2300.
