I tired of how the locks work altogether. When I come home and put the truck in park, my wife gets out the passenger door and the next thing she does is knock on the backdoor window to get her newly purchased items off the back seats because the door is locked. What a hassle. Surely there must be a work around other than manually having to unlock the doors. This not user friendly. If I turn the truck off, the Autounlock feature unlocks all the doors, but I put it in park the doors stay lock.

That's the way it works. 🤷‍♂️
or

Your wife could unlock the rear door by pushing the unlock button on her door when she exits.

Wow.

Open your door!

Once parked of course. Auto-unlock.
(are you sure it opens all the doors on merely turning it off?)
If doing a drop off before you keep moving - yeah, no way around it.

You can probably thank too many people having done stupid things complaining/suing about it NOT working closer to the way it does now, to have gotten a change at some point in the past.

AUTOUNLOCK REQUIREMENTS

Autounlock unlocks all the doors after:
  1. The vehicle speed exceeds 12 mph (20 km/h).
  1. Your vehicle comes to a stop.
  1. You open the driver door.
Note: Autounlock operates for only 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off.

Yep. I second this solution.

Remember in ancient days when you had to pull up the lock on each door manually with your fingers?!?!

Things sure have progressed very far...

And yet... it's too inconvenient... SMH.

It's an easy to access button for either of them to push.

Exercise those fingers folks!!

Once you put the truck in park, shut it off, and open the door, all the doors should be unlocked. - Pretty sure turning it off isn't a requirement, other than if it's the driver's door the truck will double-honk if you get out.

I grab stuff out of the back seat all the time, the dog, previously my BNI Box, shopping bags, and other stuff from either side. Going from memory, I believe you can set the unlock when using the remote/keyless entry to unlock the drivers door, or all doors. I'm not positive if all the doors unlock, if you have it set to unlock just the driver's door. (The automatic unlock might follow that setting, providing I'm remembering correctly, and that isn't my wife's Subaru Forester).

Two-Stage Unlocking (If Equipped)
Ford Maverick How does the Autounlock work> {filename}
Press the button to unlock the driver's door.Press the button again within three seconds to unlock all doors.

Auto-unlock after driving can be disabled.
For good reason in some areas.
Get out at gas station - not when you want all the doors unlocked.

SWITCHING AUTOUNLOCK ON AND OFF

  1. Using the instrument cluster display controls on the steering wheel, select Settings.
  1. Select Vehicle Settings.
  1. Switch Autounlock on or off.

Every vehicle seems to work differently and not have settings/controls to let you easily make it work the way you want. I want them to auto lock but but only after like 30-60 seconds to allow access soon after getting out, (my volt did that) but no setting for that.

I have a 2025 Lariat that up until about a month ago, I could unlock all doors from the driver's door by clicking it twice. Now it will only unlock the driver's door. The passenger unlocks all doors.

Was there a update that changed this? If not any suggestions? I don't want it to automatically unlocks all doors when I stop.

Thanks
