How’s your Maverick handling the snow?

We got upwards of a foot of snow in SLC last week. I have a Lariat AWD lux 4k with falken wildpeaks and had the pleasure of driving to/from work in the worst of it. Saw Subarus and lots of sedans sideways or off the road, but the Mav acted like it was a sunny summer day. Not a single slip while plowing through the ice, slush, powder, and whatever else found its way up to my full ground clearance, and then some. I just used normal mode the whole time and watched where power was being sent to all wheels. The AWD is really exceptional, and I prefer it over 4WD for situations like this.

As of 02/23 I have not seen snow accumulate on the streets in my area in the NE part of the KC metro. Guess I don't need snow tires. It has snowed south and north of me, but not in my area.

You live in familiar area! Lived in Farley MO (SW of Platte City near Missouri River) that's NW of KC Metro near Platte City and across the Missouri River from Leavenworth/Lansing 1992 to 2001 and with good friends in Excelsior Springs traveled from NW to NE KC Metro a lot - they still live there - but also pretty much all over the Metro Area. Spent quite a bit of time at the Plaza when it was much safer in the 1990's. Really loved the blues groups at BB's Lawn side BBQ at Troost and E85th! Things changed that made it not happen, but wife and I longed to go back to the KC area in retirement.

I went from a 4WD Ranger to the Hybrid Maverick and have no trouble at all on snow covered hills. The engine weight over the front drive wheels makes it unlike any other pickup I had. Good Snow tires also make all the difference. I use snow tires to get around on the farm on slick grass hill sides to get firewood and it does great - again use good snow tires.

Since I bought my Maverick, it has not snowed in East Virginia.

With a lot of people being affected with the current storm hitting the US right now I was curious how your Mavericks are doing with the snow.
I have an FX4 with Vredestien Pinza AT 235/65/R17. Very happy I was able to get my wife and I home after having to maneuver around unprepared drivers stuck in the snow.

Going to find out the hard way on Friday. 6 to 8 inches for me in Northern Illinois.

Oof. So you learned the "I need to clear the snow off the roof before the weight gets too heavy" lesson the hard way, huh.

Not a lot of roof rakes in Southern California I'm betting.

Almost nobody was able to keep up with the amount of snow that fell in 5 days. I’m not sure if I “learned my lesson” seeing as I couldn’t handle all that snow by myself, no matter how hard I tried. From keeping my pets contained to digging myself out everyday, it wasn’t easy. And no, we obviously don’t have certain tools seeing as this was the heaviest snow storm this community has seen in 30+ years, we weren’t prepared for this. We had 2 major stores in our community collapse as well, lack of emergency services, thousands trapped at home with no food in failing structures. We get ~6 inches to 1 ft on a heavy snow around here. This was 5 ft. But yeah, we learned our lesson real good.
