Which one do you want? Which one do you spend more time in? All personal preference as long as you don’t ask the dealer😂😂
Wanted to buy the Maverick so I could spend more time doing what I love...camping.

Love the "bad influence" answers. All of what needs to be done to the house is cosmetics. All the hard stuff (mechanics) have been done. Investment-wise, we bought this house while the Florida real estate market was in the proverbial shitter. The house is now worth 3X+ what we paid for it. Even if the real estate market takes a gigantic dump, we're still good and will never be upside down dreading decisions. Location is everything as they say, and homes this close to the beach are hard to find. This is our "keeper" home. Presently with supply costs and issues being what they are, I'm wondering if supplies would be cost prohibitive at this point? Any builders out there who can give me an idea of what you're dealing with in terms of remodels/rebuilds/new builds? I know from my end and the folks I deal with, supplies such as windows and garage doors take months for completion. Any thoughts?

Consider a home equity loan and doing both?

Nah. As Elvira Hancock told Tony Montana in Scarface: "Never get high off your own supply." In other words, with the exception of a small mortgage, I have zero debt. A loan on a Maverick won't break the bank, but I'm NOT going to borrow against my home.

Totally agree with you! I am using this time to buy decals, floor mats, car seat covers,Maverick emblems,etc...check out ebay. It is fun to think about how good all this stuff is going to look on the truck!

I moonlight as a renovation... guide? Basically tell the client who to hire for various parts of the jobs, provide budgets, purchasing guidance (where to buy for good deals) and deal with contractors when they screw up. Essentially the homeowner is the "general contractor" I do the leg work and provide advice. They spend less money than if they had a full blown contractor and can DIY what they want, I make a little on the side and don't hold any liability.

Having said that, prices have come down a lot over the last 6 months. Like you said, windows and doors are taking ages (6-8 months) if they are not stock items (which is rare), but material prices are coming closer to normal. I think at this point inflation is hitting hard in my area and I'm probably seeing close to 20% on most building supplies, which is better than the 150% I was seeing at the beginning of this year. Exception to that is drywall, for some reason those prices have not really changed through the pandemic and supply has been steady.

Labor prices are whats really high right now. Subs are overworked and charging 30% above pre pandemic in my area. I have friends and contacts in the trades, so I have been able to keep that down a bit, but if you are coming into this making cold calls to subs, its going to be expensive and long lead time.

The voice of reason...thank you.
Why make the decision now?
When the Mav arrives, decide THEN.
You may even be able to sell it at a nice profit.
Even if you’ve already decided to go with the house, STILL take delivery of the Mav, and make some money on her sale.
No need to make a decision right now.

We've got two 2015 Honda Accord Hybrids and they both have been trouble free and get great mileage. We will be trading or reselling one for the Maverick. Was offered 17,500 at Carmax for an 8 year old car we purchased new for 24k. Unbelievable.

I know I'm still early in my ordering process (Nov. 5th) but I'm having an internal struggle...go ahead and wait for my Maverick order, or drive my perfectly good (and paid off) 2014 Honda Accord another 75K miles and spend the money I otherwise would have spent on the Maverick getting my house remodeled?

Sigh.
Do both. Or wait for Maverick. Not getting the Maverick is not an option.
