I woke up to loud knocks at my door at 2:50 am this past Monday morning. It was my property manager letting me know some jackass had been driving erratically through the complex. He managed to hit the curb on the opposite side of the street then bounce over to the side I was parked on. He hit me hard enough to twist my truck in its parking spot to being anything but strait. His passenger curtain airbag deployed and the wheel on that side was toast from hitting the curb. I was livid when I found out he didn't have insurance, thinking I'm going to have to eat my entire repair.

After he was towed away I was able to see the damage. I was shocked how minor it was. The hitch got marred up a bit and the hitch cover was toast. There were a few light scuffs on the bumper. Today, I had a body shop put it on a lift and checked for any frame damage and they said everything measured perfectly.

Talk about a one and a million chance that I was hit where I was. I purchased a slightly bigger target for someone to hit in case something like this happens again. 😁

It's also good for breaking shins when you forget it's there.

My man, that is EXACTLY what my prior post said to do (let the insurance company go after the driver). I think you're actually in agreement with me 😆
LOL! My reading comprehension was way off. I had to re-read your posts... then I understood that you and I were both on the same page.

I was rear ended while towing my pop up camper. Damage looks locales to the Hitch only but insurance Even hard a part of the bed replaced. Unibody spread the energy to the whole thing. I suggest you have it inspected

Funny enough when there are stricter consequences for peoples' actions, the people (generally speaking) behave better.

In Germany you DUI you lose your license for awhile. Do it a couple times and be banned for life. Drive on a suspended or revoked license? Jail time. Drive without insurance? huge fines.

Here it's like "whatever" so people act stupid.

Update:

I ended up getting it repaired. Although it didn't look like a ton of damage, things added up quickly to the tune of $4750. My normal collision deductible is $1,000 but it drops to $500 for an uninsured motorist claim and drops even further to $200 if there is a police report in the state of Oregon, which there was. I am happy to have her back.

Happy that you get your baby back and fixed.

Every time I see the repair bills for mavs I become speechless, I mean it didn't look that bad for such a high bill. Don't even want to mention how many got totaled by pretty much a lil kiss compared to what I seen.

Enjoy your maverick, and hopefully the repairs satisfy you, and were done correctly.

Your pricing expectations need a readjustment. Maverick repair bills are middle of the road.

Someone entered my lane with a ford explorer and their right front tire hit my left rear quarter panel. Then as I hit my brakes, the tire walked up my car to the left rear door. No metal on metal, only rubber on metal, damaging the finish on the left rear wheel and surface denting to the aluminum panels on my Tesla.

Damage: $7,900.
