Hello,
Can you install a hitch and/or electrical wiring that is other than an OEM one?
I got a used Maverick that does not have the receiver installed.
One hitch installer, recommended by Ford, mentioned that if I install the electrical kit that is not from Ford, I will void my truck warranty.
I am considering using a private company or DIY (myself). But the warranty issue is holding me up. Thanks

I just posted on the other thread you asked about.

Thank you! Just saw it. My concern is with the warranty, should I install the OEM, or can go with any wiring kit? I was told that anything else than FORD OEM wiring kit will void the warranty

IMO, I would use the Curt plug & play product. The Ford aftermarket uses Scotchlok-type connectors, which can be problematic.

How were you informed that anything else other than a Ford OEM wiring kit will void the warranty?

A hitch installer company, it was recommended by a FORD dealer, he installs most of their local hitches. That is why I'm asking, not sure if he is just telling me that so I don't go to his competitors.

Well, seeing how opinions on here are just that opinions. You may actually ask a Ford dealership. Then again, are they just pushing their own product. At some point, you're going to have to take a leap of faith.
Just my opinion. The fact that you were looking at $30 Harbor Freight step bumper hitch, which the Maverick does not have a "step-bumper.
Tells me you were headed in the wrong direction.
