Maverick is my only truck as of now. Was picking up some hay and it did well. For my first trip I took 23 bales to take it easy. I think 26 would be good

6bottom row - I tried a couple options. On side they are a bit low so I put them on edge so the next row leans in but not too much. You can fit 2 side by side behind the cab, then one sideways, but then the 3rd row overhangs to much.

Pic below was my first test load not as described above. I only have 6 in 3rd row and 3 in 4th row instead of 8 and 4.

You could probably do a bit more maybe even a third row of 8 for 34 but i think I’d stop at 26. Handled it well but could feel I had a little less traction with the weight taking some lbs off the front axle.

If I remember right people claim 50+ in a 8’ bed including overlapping onto the cab etc.

That’s a good bit of hay! I imagine you did have less traction with the fwd setup

Reminds me of videos from India where they stack huge loads on to 3 wheel motorized carts leaning around corners until they tip over.

Looks like it's getting the job done to me. Protecting the tails as well. Not your first rodeo obv.

Yeah I need to add some cleats. The one in the front is fine but the rear one is too far down on the bed floor (which works better for cargo net) to reach with the ratchet. Real farmers claim if you stack right you don’t need to tie it down. I didn’t go over 55 but you can feel the added wind resistance.

So take that 3rd row and turn 2 bails side ways on the outside run 4 bails down the middle we call that a tie tear then stick 8 more on top of that be careful with your weight . I come from a hay hauler family.
3rd and 5th row are your tie tears never used ropes on the sides.

Nice haul, probably about the weight limit for a Maverick.
Not as epic (or dangerous) as something like this though: o_O
