If anyone was wondering if you could haul a round bale of costal hay in a maverick. You definitely can.

Just needed a few ratchet straps but made it home safely.

8-900 lbs is usually what they go for.

This is why i joined the club , I forgot all about hooking the tailgate cable around the latch .
No I just ran a strap over the top down to the hitch. doing this snugged up the tailgate to the bale . The strap only touched the plastic cap on the tailgate.

That makes more sense. I just love to see the capacity of these little truck be tested.

How far are you going with something like this? I can imagine that the steering felt a little light, but it does not look overloaded at all.

I know it doesn't weigh that much, but visually it looks like you're attempting to do wheelies!

Center just behind the rear axle and that round shape as if it's gonna be a wheel itself when it touches.

It’s weird seeing the regular small bales now. Only a few farmers around my area still have the working equipment to do that.

Most make the big rectangular bales or the round ones like you hauled.

I’m surprised that bale only weighs 8-900lbs. Didn’t small bales average 70lbs?

Went about 30 miles down some rural roads. I kept it around 55 mph around turns felt a little top heavy.

Square bales are densely packed by a plunger while round bales are more loosely rolled weighty comparatively less.

Not to be nit-picking but round bales are more densely packed than square bales.

Actually, bale density is adjustable on both round and squares.
Round:
Square:
Minimum and maximum density is bounded by
1. Capacity of the baler
2. Twine strength
3. Maintaining bale shape (too low density and the bale falls apart)
