Has anyone here tried this console safe in their Maverick?

I have had the opportunity to try two different console safes. Once installed, neither can be simply lifted out of the console. The side pieces are trapezoid shaped which wedges the safe into the console once assembled. The primary difference was the height of the safes. He taller of the two offered more internal storage space. The other, although shorter, permitted me to still use the top compartment of my console organizer, hiding the safe from direct view when the console lid is open. I continue to use the shorter one.

Would you mind posting a link to the shorter one. I think I know which this is but want to make sure.

As I recall, it is for duplicating the key, and more importantly, starting the car if the battery in the keyfob is dead.

Just wondering if anyone in the Club has ever had to do either of those two things?

Good question. i'd have never known about this. Makes sense to cut a hole in the bottom plate if its commonly used.

I’m afraid I’m unable to provide a direct link. I ordered the safe too long ago. I can tell you I was comparing prices and ended up ordering it from Temu. I have seen what appears to be the same on Ali Express and eBay.

Always go for the 4 digit over the 3 digit. I used to teach airline Pilots who were receiving permission to have issued guns in the cockpit. They had 3 digit portable boxes to store the weapon in and at least 1 would always forget the combination at the gun range. It took us normally less than 15 minutes to run all possible combinations and open the box!! A bkup Key is always good.
As we get older our fingerprints wear out and usually have errors when trying to get a FP reader safe open.

Wish I would’ve seen this one before! I bought a different model off Amazon, generic. I have a Lariat and it did not have a bottom piece, just two side plates. I cut both side plates to 5.25”. This dropped it to 3” down inside, (2.5 with knob sticking up) I had to grind corners etc on rear part of lid behind hinges, it’s really stuffed in tight. It was a real pain in the…! But I can drop in the top console organizer right over it.

Console Vault is the only one I have bought, 2 with one more in the near future. Ford thought they were good enough.

Ford also thinks the Hybrid 12-volt battery is also good enough in MY22-MY24, pretty sure they are wrong on that one. I wonder what else they are wrong about?

I’ve been looking at this safe too. Can’t it just be lifted up and taken out?

It would be very difficult, practically would have to tear the console up to get it out. I installed the bottom plate with a screw into the bottom of the console in the hole on one side that was already there for a little more security.

Installed 2 sides.

From this angle with sides attached, you can see after the top is added, it would be impossible to lift the safe past the lip on either side of the console without a lot of destruction to the console which could be done but would take some time and tools. I don't leave any valuables in there while parked at home, only for short times when out and about where there's usually a lot of people around!

Install complete. I'm very satisfied with it. I don't know about the safe you are looking at but, I installed the Muslogy safe and I put a battery operated motion sensing light over it. I like both.

I installed this safe yesterday. I'm an average size guy, but quite a few obscene words were uttered trying to work in that small area. Good luck if you got big hands. It wasn't a perfect fit but close enough.
