AbnRgr, I'm interested in which brand of safe you got from AliExpress, as there are several. What I like is: "The safe still sits low enough that I can still use the top portion of my console organizer." Thanks

AliExpress appears to be a conglomerate of multiple sellers offering the same product. I only recall one safe meant for the Maverick, but offered by multiple sellers. I went with the one being offered at the lowest price. I believe it was about $84.

I don’t agree with the assessment that this safe is worthless. A thief with a minimum amount of time, a simple pry tool, and not caring about the damage he will cause to my truck could get to its contents without much trouble. That is not what I’m trying to deter or defeat. I often transport my grandkids and great grandkids. All are of an age where curiosity might get the better of them if I’m not in the vehicle with them. This safe is adequate for that concern.

Exactly why the 9 goes with me whenever I exit the vehicle. That, and it does me no good locked in the ruck.
