hard wiring Garmin dash cam>

I purchased a Garmin dash cam and want to hard wire it so I have the optional parking mode which records when any motion is detected around the vehicle. Anybody been under their dash yet and have a suggestion on where I can tap into an accessory wire and a constant 12V wire? I hate messing with electrical and certainly don't want to mess anything up.

Using micro2 fuse taps makes the job a lot easier.

Ok, I am electronically challenged. That is where I have my phone plugged into to get CarPlay. Do they sell some type of splitter?

I used this for my phone, they have it for iphones also, use the usb c port above the regular usb.

In the fuse box under the pass. Seats are 3 spades behind a faux connector (at least on mine) the left 2 spades have 12v all the time and the one on the right has key on power. Very quick and easy

Unfortunately I drove into work this morning with my dash cam plugged into the usb port and it did not record. It had a steady green light indicating that it is connected to a computer in mass storage mode.

Maybe a camera thing or wire or car type ? Mine is XLT FX4, try the amazon cable..
