Probably been covered numerous times before but what was the pro's and con's on a OBDII connection vs hardwiring to the fusebox for a front and rear dash cam in the Hybrid Mav?

Mine is OBDII. Only drawback I can think of is if I ever want to plug anything else into the OBDII, I need to unplug my dashcam. The OBDII plug for my dashcam only has something like 2 or 3 pins in it, so it isn't like it is high risk of the camera corrupting the computer or modules in the truck. It only interfaces with the pins supplying power from the OBDII port. That is the one thing I see some people have concerns about. A camera plugged into the OBDII 24/7/365 somehow risking "corrupting" something. But this isn't any different than having one of those insurance company trackers plugged in. Or any of the other monitoring things you can run via OBDII.

Thanks for the input. Probably go with my initial thought of hardwiring to the fusebox.
Looking to install the Thinkware Q200 package.

I use a 2 or 3 way splitter to support my cellular tracker and OBD-II gauge...and now adding a dashcam to the OBD-II connector. Starting to get a bit crowded under the Mav dash.
