Hello everyone! 2022 Maverick xlt owner here who just got a build date for my 2023 Maverick Blackout Edition!

While I was looking over the order online it says I have the hard drop-in bedliner. I did not ask for this, but I am not mad about it being added. My plans were to get the truck bedlined by a third party when I got it.

Since it is coming with it, I was hoping to get feedback from people who have a maverick with the drop-in.

How nice is it? If I wanted to remove it and go with a spray in bedliner, is it a hard removal? Does anyone have pics of it?

Thanks!

very easy to put on and to remove.

I actually installed the drop in bed liner myself, took me maybe 2 hours.

Don't get why would people want spray on vs hard drop in. The plastic liner is much more durable than spray on. I had one on my 2004 ranger and I transported sand, gravel, etc. Doubt you would want to do that with a spray on coating. I also live somewhere they salt the road. I didn't notice any rust issues underneath the liner when I sold it last month. I've never seen any real proof that plastic liner wears down the bed and causes corrosion problems other than from companies / people who sell spray on liner.

I had one as part of the luxury package.

The factory didn’t or forgot to do all of the cutouts for drain plugs and 12 v access.

The dealership royally screwed up the fix and made a mess of the cutouts.

I had them remove it and do a spray in bed liner as a resolution.

Comes out in 4 pieces fairly simple.

I removed the side panels doing the led bed lighting in a matter of minutes.

I may find that I like it after using it for a while.

I would only prefer the spray in for aesthetic reasons.

1. How nice is it?
I like mine very much. And I use the bed to haul stuff very frequently. From groceries to mulch to gravel and cement blocks.

2. If I wanted to remove it and go with a spray in bedliner, is it a hard removal?
Very easy. Two screws for the bed liner and 8 screws for the tailgate cover.
The hardest part would be the removal of the two-sided tape on the back of the cab. It is in 5 pieces counting the tailgate.

Check out the video.

I originally wanted the spray-in liner, but after seeing the modular drop-in in my brothers truck I changed my mind. I think it looks great, and it's very tough.

If it’s too slippery the Ford bed mat may compliment the drop in.

We have had a hard drop in bedliner in our Tundra for over 20 years, never a issue. I got the SIBL for the Maverick. but would stick with the drop in of that what came with it.

Hi
I had the same thing happen. Got the drop in bed liner without ordering it. Lol. Was charged for it. Now that I have it I like it. I think it will protect my bed better than the spray in. Which I have in the F150

I love my drop-in bed liner! I love that you can slide things easily, and if you want them to stay put, you can get a cargo net, bungee cords, or ratchet straps.

And it's durable!! I've had my truck for 11 months and average using the bed for lumber, furniture, hog wire, or other heavy stuff about twice a month. The bed liner is unchanged (maybe some minor scratches), but the "cap" thingy they put on the top of the tailgate has scratches and significant nicks in it. It doesn't seem to be as durable.
