So today I called the Ford customer service line, and found out the truck is in transit! Which is great, but I couldn't find out through the order tracking website because it hasn't worked for me in 2 months at all, not even with different browsers or devices. Even worse, I have yet to receive any email from Ford or the dealership, and again, the truck is scheduled to be received next week. The only way I have kept updates on the progress is on my own through ordertrack.app, or calling the customer service line which has actually been very very helpful every time I've called. I'm excited to get the truck, but beyond upset with the dealership.

I went in today to the dealer (DCH Ford in SoCal) to basically let them know that I know where my truck is at and that they're dropping the ball.. they made it seem like it was my fault when I had all my ducks in order. Not a salesman - the manager! You would think it would be important to them to let the customer know the truck is to be received in a week, or at least reach out ONCE in the 7 months since ordering with something other than promotional spam. And they will only hold for three days which may or may not be standard but I told them because of my job I could be gone for 3/4/5 days in a row at a time so they extended it to 6 days. What a guy.

Still excited for the truck, but the dealership has definitely been a disappointment.

Congrats on being so, so close! Exciting, and I’m sure nerve racking.

3 days… Wow, so, so kind. As I understand it, you have to give them a documented refusal before they can legitimately do anything with your retail order. In any case, this is a red flag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row, come delivery time.

Make sure you give them a piece of your mind on the Ford survey, for whatever that is worth.

Is there some way to get your paperwork started. You have a vin so lining up insurance is doable. If you are going to finance get the paperwork started there as well. If you have to be out of town maybe line up docu sign?

From what I understand the dealership "can" do the paperwork before the truck arrives and then do final sign offs after making sure there is no damage and it arrives in good shape. Whether they will or not depends on the individual stealership.

I have gotten NOT ONE call or notification on my truck in 10 months from my dealer - All info was given thru Ford chat , Ordertrack and the few emails Ford sends out. Mine is in Mexico awaiting shipment. You really wonder why stealerships deserve any money made off the sale of a truck if all the lazy ^%^&^ did is enter an order and then walk away until it is delivered. Maybe at some point Farley will fix this broken system.

This is an aside, but do most people on here think it's normal to just show up the dealership in person to check on your order? What about a call or an email? Admittedly I'm in a very different line of work, but a client just randomly showing up without an appointment is disruptive and odd.

Like, I wouldn't just swing by my doctor's office without an an appointment and expect to be able to talk to him about my lab results from the week prior

Totally different business model. Car dealerships are retail establishments. Do you make an appointment to go to Walmart?

Yes, it should be entirely normal and not disruptive to walk into a retail dealership and inquire about an order.

Yeah that's true. Every time I walk into a dealership, there's a swarm of salespeople ready to pounce

The dealership will let you know when the order arrives. But you have an app that is easy to check. What more to you want? The dealer to let you know every step of the way? Gotta be reasonable man.

It's more like if you were scheduled for a surgery 6 months ago, and the doctor hasn't contacted you once about your surgery next week. I get what you're saying for sure, but trying to get in contact with these guys has been the worst so I or no courtesy to them I feel.

I'll definitely look into if I can get my paperwork going. And I 1000% agree with the second part of your message. I plan on purchasing none of the packages/add ons/ robberies that dealership offers. Here's my money, give me my truck and I'll be on my way.

I didn't have any confidence in the dealership contacting me when the truck arrived, since they hadn't contacted me once in any way shape or form since I started the process. I don't need them holding my hand, but a general nod to a paying customer that at least says "hey we know you're there." The Ford tracker doesn't work for me, and thank God for this forum otherwise I wouldn't have know about the ordertrack.app. It's not like this is an Amazon package. It's a $30k vehicle.

Salesman are like the front office staff at your doctors office, they’re the ones that contact you about your upcoming procedure. It really is a hit or miss with them too.. Been there and done that on both sides.. Stay vigilant on either side!!!
