Nice...

Gathering clues for maybe putting a CB in mine. Think I might go with clips to dangle it off passenger side of console.

I sure have no room behind the seats, just looked in there up close for the first time (recent buy) and I was all "Holy crap, what is all this junk?" Well I guess it's Lariat and hybrid junk, amp and controllers of some kind... and two speakers... also seems like the seat miiiight be thicker, IDK. Anyway, seems like I've got a slim chance of tucking much back there.

It will probably work fine with the antenna off the hood like that, but according to Ford VHF/UHF should be on top of the cab (and on the back bumper for < 30 mhz). - this is from the 2025 owner's manual...

Wow, great job! I especially like how you installed the mic as it looks flush. Are you also going to add HF?

I’m also looking to do the same (once mine arrives 2025 Lariat Hybrid) and didn’t even consider a hood mount. I‘m considering a breedlove mount on the bed rail, but first need to see if this would be possible with the tonneau…

Thanks for sharing this, I’ll check out the owners manual as it’s interesting they’ve suggested capping power @ 50W. I may need to re-consider my HF idea… 🤔

Yeah I didn’t have $500 for the Third brake light mount like I wanted and didn’t want to drill a hole in roof this time. I have ran the fender mount before without issue. If issues arise I will look at moving it.

No not planning HF too many ground issues to chase to get it right plus I like vhf/uhf for local comms. To much to do running HF not like U/Vhf just memorize my repeater list.

What I did to mount a radar detector I used one of the dash inserts from mabett or muskology
You can cut glue down whatever you want with no alteration to the truck. You do have a nice clean install.

Urgh, they're gonna make me math.

Meaning if it seems like 27Mhz harmonics from any of those higher bands would be in excess of 5W then there's no point NOT using position 2 for my CB antenna.
