Had Trailer lights recall completed today.

Last week made appointment to have the recall completed on my 2024 Lariat ICE. 8:00 appointment, update completed and truck back outside of dealership by 8:10. Found one issue when I stopped on the way home for gas. Went to clear the mileage on my dash (average, trip 1, trip 2) and it appears that the recall update removed the options I chose previously to show up toggling thru the menu. All that was left was average mileage, trip 1 and tire pressure. I wonder what other choices I have made are gone in others areas. Post is just a warning to others having the recall taken care of that they need to go back into the menu if they chose other options than those it defaulted to after the update.

I had the update done OTA. Initially it seemed to fix the problem but the module
failure warning has returned. I had heard another update was coming but can’t confirm that.

Over the air is valid on the 2025/2026's. 2022 - 2024 has to be done at the dealership. I trailer a lot in the winter and never had the failure (snowmobile trailer).

Sorry the fix did not solve your issue. You talk to your dealer about it?

My appointment is the 29th of this month. Also getting my cracked windshield replaced, front wheel alignment, state inspection and diag about my melting third brake light housing. We'll see if the settings get changed or if I get the run around for the third brake light.

Stories like yours helped me decide to be proactive and replace all of my exterior halogen bulbs with LEDs. On the 25, the interior bulbs are already LEDs.
The LEDs are several times brighter and use a fraction of the power of the halogens, as their energy use goes to producing light instead of heat.
Buy the "canbus friendly" ones and you don't need to add the resistors.

If I didn't have to remove the cap to change the bulbs I would do that. Seeing it's still under warranty and they sold it to me with the cap already installed they "say" they will cover the labor of removing the cap. We shall see. If they try to charge me for labor then I may have to deal with it myself and do just that.

I noticed that the bed lights on either side of the top stop would get REALLY hot, so I replaced those and did the stop as well.
The LEDs don't get hot, and they are so much brighter, that I have or will be replacing all of them once the Jeffy B van arrives..

I noticed that the bed lights on either side of the top stop would get REALLY hot, so I replaced those and did the stop as well.
The LEDs don't get hot, and they are so much brighter, that I have or will be replacing all of them once the Jeffy B van arrives..

I assume this was intended for the other Tbone...

As a side note, I don't ever use the factory-provided bed lights, as they don't work nearly as well for me as custom bed rail lights. The factory ones, even with LEDs, tend to cause a lot of glare.
