My truck was finally delivered last Friday after a 18 month wait. Went to the dealership to look at my build. Test drove the hybrid and was pleasantly surprised in it. So we start talking numbers and my 27,155 pre taxes/fees build had now become 36k due to market adjustment and that it wasn’t a ‘22 but a ‘23. I was told at the time of ordering and last February that my order was immune to market adjustment. “They are hot vehicles so we have to take that into account.” I guess when you order something it doesn’t mean anything with Waldorf ford? Long story short I walked away. It sold about 40 mins after I left according to the salesman who texted me. 🤷‍♂️

Fuck that you did the right thing , I feel horrible for you I waited 13 months and price never changed. I’ve been offered 40k for mine already and said no.

You've been a member of MTC long enough to know that it's not Ford adding the market adjustment, it's the Dealership.

Your anger should be with Waldorf Ford.

HRG

It could be worse, image if you had ordered a Lightning,,,,,

Hate to hear that especially after a long wait. Add them to the crummy dealer list. It’s also another example of many on this forum and others proving the dealers can do anything they want for the most part. State and federal franchise laws are on their side. Many will respond will the sue big lawyer talk but at the end of the day you’ll loose and have a lawyer bill to boot. IMO

I feel your pain. I Had the same thing happen, and almost walked away too. After 2 hours of whining, complaining, tweeting, asking for a manager, Calling Ford CS and talking to marketing from the showroom floor pointing out that every window sticker said "special order" the dealer finally sold it to me at MSRP. I was so angry and upset. The entire process took 4 hours and it was the worst car buying experience that I ever had.

I did a lot of research before I picked my dealer. It says right on their website orders are at MSRP and members on this site have confirmed they are a good dealer that keeps their word. Some folks don't have a lot of choice in dealers. It's really sad went a customer is screwed by a bad dealer. I would not have been able to handle the stress of 4 hours to get the truck at MSRP. I know it is not Ford that is marking the truck up but Ford could do a lot more to make sure dealerships are punished for this type of behavior.

How many other customers happened to accidently overhear your displeasure about how the dealer was taking advantage and giving a raw deal?

It certainly sounds like no matter what has been agreed to when placing the order the dealership may well not honor the deal. If it goes as it should a big sigh of relief is in order...Very sorry to hear your deal went South.

Ordered Sept 2022 and was supposed to be MSRP. They made me sign that sheet to show it was, in their words "presented to me"? They did not want me to take a picture but I insisted, saying that if I signed it I should have a copy.

Many members on this site had a good experience with Arron Ford of Poway. My first contact (Jason Jordan in internet sales) left and things went sideways. Not sure why they picked on me

I'm a peace loving individual who even takes time to move rattle snakes off of roads. I can't imagine what acts of bodily harm I would be capable of over a 4 hour period with someone trying to treat me that way. After placing an order, leaving an appropriate deposit (that is my hard earned money placed with them), and then waiting 8 months. Who are these people that have the nerve to invent over 22,000 ways to extract even more money from you? Kudos to you for having the self control to fight the fine fight to be treated fairly. I don't suffer selfish greedy people well... You sir, are an amazing person!
