I have waited patiently for my Hybrid Lariat order since September 2021. It's been assigned a 22my VIN and assigned a production date only to be pushed back 7 times before being cancelled by Ford. As a 23my it has again been assigned a VIN and scheduled for production in January 2023. The reason I am walking is the dealer refuses to track down the Transitional Private Offer in the amount of $2750.

I have contacted Customer Service and marketing numerous times and they both agree that I am in the right but they say there is nothing they can do since it is a dealer issue. The self professed Maverick expert at CS (Heather) says only the dealer can correct this and she knows of a resource other than the inventory manager but she won't share that with me the customer.

The dealer sales manager read me an email today from his inventory manager that says if there is no certificate number there is nothing he can do. I truly believe that the dealer has no incentive to do the leg work for this knowing I will not buy the truck for $3k over what I was promised in 2021 and he will now have the opportunity to sell it to a desperate customer for $5k over MSRP.

I don't blame Ford; even though their reorder process is F'ed up, I blame my dealer Sheehy Ford Springfield Va. Funny thing is last month a salesman at the stealership told me he still has a personal outstanding Maverick order from 2021 - I wonder if he plans to bend over with vaseline for his purchase.

Tonight I went to another Ford dealer and picked up a 2022 Mustang in eruption green with a 6 speed. I don't think I will miss my Maverick much. No reason to get mad over this; it's just a F'ing truck.
Sucks to hear man, go enjoy your mustang. I hope noone ends up buying from that dealer because he would probably mark it up 15k.

I'm a new order from 9/22. If there is one thing I learned, its that out of all the auto companies out there, ford has by far the worst dealer network.

There are quite a lot of us out here in your shoes…….waiting over a year for a rollover only to find that Ford has screwed up the private offer. Just got my window sticker after 15 months. The private offer was there before but gone now per my dealer. He’s “contacting the rep to see where the cert went”. At this point, after owning a Santa Cruz for a few months, I’m not sure Ford could offer me anything to make me take my HPR hybrid lux BAP CP360’s. I’m just tired of having to coach a dealer, and Ford, through what at every other manufacturer is a pretty straightforward process……selling and buying a car.

But, I will take it since I can still make a few thousand off it as payment for my aggravation. This will be my last transaction ever with the FMC. A new F O R D saying…..

Fucked Over Really Deep

Thanks Ford, but I won’t have another.

The entire Private Offer thing is crazy to me, and should be crazy to nearly any other business owner. Just over 2 years ago, prices on materials and labor could have essentially made the Maverick 10-30% cheaper, who knows the actual manufacturing or production cost. But now there is a Private Offer to protect the price after over a year, on an ordered vehicle not under contract to a specific buyer, as in there is no legal obligation to retain the retail order for the consumer.

Ford went above and beyond offering what they did, but lets just look at it from a business perspective, and without knowing the actual profit. Lets say it's a 10% margin, the price protection would basically imply that Ford makes zero profit on all orders for an entire year. That's not exactly a great long term strategy and essentially forces Ford to cut costs in other areas.

Yes, it's great to be loyal to customers, but on this scale, it's better to remain in business. I think they would be better off offering an extended warranty rather than the private offer nonsense. This would instill a sense of confidence to the consumer in that Ford is not only manufacturing a quality product, but is willing to make sure that they remain doing so. IF ford is NOT manufacturing a quality product that can't outlast the standard warranty, this becomes a different story.

Not to be argumentative, but I think if Ford would change in mid-production to adding an extended warranty, that might scare as many off as those who would become confident. "Gee, Ford has had so many problems, they are having to add an extended warranty to try to reassure buyers..."

Personally, I will be spending the approximately $1000-$1500 for an extended Ford ESP warranty just because of all the Maverick Lariat Hybrid's technology (and the fact that my 2020 Transit needed a new LED headlight {under warranty, thank goodness} that cost $1700). I'll use some of my $2750 Private Offer to offset the warranty and I'm glad Ford gave me the choice.

I understand where you're coming from, but again, I'm looking at the bigger picture on such an extended timeline and a massive scale of consumers. While your approach certainly benefits you, it does nothing for the Ford side, which I imagine complicates the process. It seems like the warranty would be beneficial to both parties. This is a cheap vehicle that was made to be cheap. The costs are going to steadily creep in to the territory of not being cheap, which makes the Maverick no longer valid.

FWIW, I am specifically referring to in lieu of the CURRENT/PAST private offer, an extended warranty is offered.

I have two 2022 Maverick orders in. One was rolled-over, the other was scheduled and then canceled. I called Customer Service and I have ONE Private Offer in which appears to be from the roll-over, but they did not see a second one. I assume I should get one for each order, but the Customer Service person didn't know.

I was planning on taking both orders, but won't if I can only get one. Also, will the offer work on either order or only the one that has the order number associated with? @fordvideoguy?
private offer can be applied to whichever you want. The eligibility says that you have to have a 23MY order submitted to get the private offer and has to be used on a 2023 order.

What about getting only one certificate? Are they limited to one per person even if there are two orders that were not built?

My hybrid hopefully will be delivered this week. I have an approved COVP/ROVP # dated 8 November 2021. I have workedfor months through all recommended Ford contacts and the dealer and still no PO certificate in Smart Vincent. I would love to apply a $2750 PO to my 23MY order, but I have the feeling I'm out of luck and time.

Should have 2 offers if you had 2 orders.
I guess it had a different address and email in the system. I gave him my other email and was able to pull it up and have the number. I'm having my dealer add it and make sure it works. Hopefully the address or email doesn't get it rejected. It has my name on it correct still.

Here's a phone call I got from Sheehy Ford of Springfield Va. this morning.

Sheehy: Congratulations, your new 2023 Ford Maverick has arrived

Me: It's not mine; I'm not taking delivery.

Sheehy: Why not?

Me: You failed to process the $2750 Private Offer promised by Ford to offset the price increases since my Sprtember 2021 order.

Sheehy: I'm sorry to hear that.

Me: No your not you F'ing Bastard. You intentionally withheld the Private Offer so I wouldn't accept it at 2023 prices. Now you can sell it at $7000 ADM. Go F' yourself.
