Got my new ARE. V series Cap today. Wife insisted I get it for an upcoming cross country camping trip so things in the bed would be a little more secure. I didn't really want one but it looks better than I thought it would. The paint matched perfectly. Took six weeks for it to come in. Had them put an extra clip on each side as we carry canoes on the roof and one crossbar will be on the cap.

Looks great. I think you'll be happy with it.

We have an A.R.E. cap on our '24 Mav as well as our '21 Ranger. Went all out with the interior LED light strips, drop down front window, 12V plug ins for our plug in coolers, and the pet screens for a little added security.

We did have an issue with the cap on the Mav leaking due to a manufacturing defect. I took a video of water bubbling up through the fiberglass in both front corners while a friend aimed a compressed air hose at the area from the outside. Needless to say, A.R.E. replaced the canopy, without a hassle. Good company to work with, and a great product.

I think that cap looks great on your truck! Being black there is no break in the color due to the bed trim, makes it seamless appearing. Please come back and give us feedback on the seal and if you experience leaks. I am considering the same cap for my 25, think it's the best looking of them all.

Yeah, I have to agree that it looks pretty sweet. If you had to remove it for any reason, how difficult would that be ? I imagine because of the weight, it would take at least two people to steady it.

Actually it's Alto Blue. Looks black until the sun hits it then it's a really dark blue.

Noice!! After my last truck I told myself, 'never again'... But this has me reconsidering...
Why not ? What are the cons ?
I was thinking in adding one to my Mav.
Looks very nice tho.
Cheers (y)

My last truck was a Dodge Dakota Crew cab. The topper was heavy and big and even though I worked out a lift away and storage solution in my garage it was still a pain when I needed to remove it to haul larger items in the bed.. But now since I have my Mav, I no longer offer to haul tall items for folks.. now I can enjoy having and leaving a nice topper on the bed of my Mav for 99% of the time 'theoretically'.😁

Ah ok. Now I understand!
You are right! If you need to remove it time to time, might be very annoying ...
In my case, If I get one, I will probably leave on 99.9% of the time as well.
Taking as reference my bed cover I removed it just 2 times in 2 years.
Thank you for the insight ;) (y)

I hear you. I had a 97 Dakota with a “light” fibreglass canopy. Got a friend to help me take it off for summer, he slipped on one side and it came down on said side and scraped the Sh$% out of the box! Don’t think a canopy on the Mav would be that heavy but I don’t know. But looks Great!

On all of my previous caps, I installed a set of crossbars which allowed lifting the cap off the bed with a cherry picker/engine hoist. Usually this took only a few minutes once I loosened the bed clamps. Reinstalling also took just a few minutes, usually with the help of a neighbor. Don’t’ forget to disconnect the electrical connections.

You order through local dealers. It's a model V. You order by your truck make/model. Here's the web site: https://www.4are.com

None yet but I'm sure it will as the Mav isn't really designed for a cap the way the top edge of the box is, especially the front which channels water into the box, not away.
