Bro why do people have to be like this? I don't like Jeeps, I've still never walked up to a Jeep owner and been like "Haha your car sucks". Like I could be going crazy, but it almost feels like people are getting ruder and more confrontational, and it's just sad. There's literally nothing to be gained by being an asshole to someone, sorry you have to deal with dickheads like that.
Correctly said if I ever heard a good answer

Was with a friend years ago picking some yard supplies up in his 1984 Ranger. At first glance it looked like the stuff might not fit and the attendant at the loading area said something about not liking these new 'small' Ford trucks. My friend said, "I don't remember asking you to make any of the payments", to which he had no further comment. He was impressed that everything fit just fine and I wouldn't be surprised if he later bought one for himself.

He has a point. That's why I have a "real truck" for hauling 8' material, another one that is a flatbed for hauling 10' material, and another longer flatbed for hauling 12' material, and a moving van for hauling 16' material, and another moving van for hauling 24' material. As well as an older compact truck for hauling 6' material, but if I am hauling 4' material I will take the Maverick. I will use the SLK when I have just one passenger riding along, a different car if I have 2-3 passengers, the small SUV if I have 4 passengers, the mid size SUV if I have 5-6 passengers, and the Transit will all seats installed if I have 7-9 passengers. I will use the Blue Bell school bus if I have 17-35 passengers. I REALLY need to buy a vehicle that will fill the gap between 9-17 passengers!

Camping trips are also complicated due to # of people going, so it's best to have 5-6 different size RVs.

For the first month or two of owning my Mav, I was getting dogged on regularly by all my coworkers. They all drive these huge three-quarter ton and one ton trucks (F250/F350, Ram 2500/3500, etc). Most of them have pristine truck beds and never pull anything more than a U-Haul trailer. Honestly, a Mav would suit most of their needs but wouldn't satisfy whatever Napoleon Complex they got going on.

They usually stop talking when I tell them I only paid $26,000, and average 30 mpg, while being able to do exactly everything they use their trucks for (not what it can do). Usually makes them feel pretty stupid for buying a $70,000 BroDozer when I say the above.

If it doesn't have a 52' trailer attached and a GVWR of 80,000lbs, it's still a toy truck with an 8' bed.

That's why I'm thinking about a CB and a cute little feisty duckie on the hood.

Yeah, I’m good and fine with your post …until they ask you to go to the lake one day and they pull up in front of your house with their 25 foot Nautique….. then you “get it”. Not really any kind of “complex” at all for HD truck owners. Just a truck that does the job you need it to do. 😎😎

Really? The whole point of the BroDozer is appearance. Most never have anything bigger than a cooler in the bed. I have a neighbor with a Raptor that will NOT take it on a dirt road, cuz, it might get dirty. Lower economic class people put a lot of emphasis on their vehicles, thinking the vehicle is an expression of who THEY are, a surrogate of sorts. But most people realize it's just a costume, and the harder they try to look hard, the less hard you know they are.
In my 20's, I knew a guy who was a VP with US Bank; he could afford anything he wanted to drive. He drove an old beat-up toyota pickup. His logic on vehicle choice was eye-opening to me, because I'd never considered anything but spending as much as you can afford +20% on a vehicle. He said he never worried about it getting parking lot or road damage, because it was already beat up. It cost him near zero to maintain (Toyota), and was cheap to insure. It gave him zero worries. Of course, his wife had a brand new Land Rover, and for family trips and stuff they used that. I still think about him when I look for a new vehicle. Which is why I have an XL and not even an XLT, let alone a a Lariat or other trim level. I can use that extra $4-25,000 on other things that are more important than driving back and forth.
Anyway, I'm off to get about 10 sheets of plywood and some barn door track...in my Maverick . I won't need the Transit(not Connect) to haul such a small load.

I was loading some 2X4 and 2X6's at Home Depot, while I was strapping them down some guy stopped and said "Next time you should buy a real truck with an 8 foot bed"! A few good comebacks rushed into my head, but I took the high road and ignored him. Not sure why some people cant keep to themselves. What do you think a good comeback would have been?
It's right in line with today's politics. Little poo boy anger put down. Actually it is envy a little life and lack of brain power. Blame it on Brain worms!

Twice I have had a lady walk behind my Maverick as I was loading it while at Home Depot.
They both said "Oh what a cute LITTLE pickup"
Just smiled and said thankyou.
Did you tell them it is your trucklet ?

I love it when these HD massive tired trucks with a 12” lift slow down to a snails pace while going over a tiny speed bump!

Well 18 mpg in a city commute is still much better than any full size.
I have to believe a hybrid gets a little more than 18 mpg in city driving.

It’s called being jealous. Had a Smart car from when I lived in Manhattan… for years never a single dig. Shipped it out to CO and people (men) just can’t keep their mouths shut about it.
