I keep my maverick very clean and have not eaten in it let alone have the chance for dust to accumulate in the cabin.
but my rotary gear selector feels like there is a sandy grit underneith it and it feels as if it is scratching around while rotating the selector. I ran a wet paper towel around the radius of the gear selector. But its pretty sealed and i didn't collect much dust on the towel.

has anyone else gad this issue? Anyone have an easy way to clean it out? Open to any suggestions.

Does your rotary gear selector seem almost - at least the ring that goes around the outer edge? My wife and I test drove two different 23 Ford Escapes and noticed that the outer ring of the rotary shifter seemed really loose and pretty delicate compared to the rotary selector on my wife's 21 Edge. Maybe it's not the same on the Maverick so just curious.
